• Functions as facility Employee Occupational Health nurse, working in collaboration with EOH Clinicians and the Medical Director.
• Supports the delivery of Employee Occupational Health services, including triaging employees with illnesses and injuries, COVID testing and providing vaccinations.
• Functions as a consultant in health promotion and disease prevention and uses advanced clinical knowledge/judgment to plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate programs to promote healthy behaviors among employees.
• Manages the annual Employee Influenza vaccination campaign.
• Maintains CWM EOH Sharepoint with current information for staff
• Performs data collection and analysis to determine employee health needs and expectations for the occupational health and employee wellness program. Based on this information, develops, implements, and evaluates activities for effectiveness.
• Facilitates the Employee Wellness Committee, working with interdisciplinary health professionals to develop mission, goals, and annual strategic action plan.
• Understands workman's compensation laws; local, state, and federal regulatory requirements; and systems for maintaining health records.
• Collaborates with appropriate human resource/administrative personnel as well as Safety and Infection Prevention.
• Will facilitate staff wellness offerings, and address AES outcomes along with Employee Whole Health committee
• Attends Whole Health executive committee monthly meetings and reports data on EWH.

RTs at this level practice under the direct supervision of a recreation or creative arts therapist at or above the full-performance level or a designated supervisor in a clinical environment.

Employees at the GS-11 grade level serve as staff Recreation Therapists functioning at the full performance level. RTs at this level practice autonomously receiving guidance in only the most complex cases. Recreation Therapists must be certified by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) and/or licensed in states where applicable.

• Participates in multidisciplinary ward/clinic rounds, as needed, which includes providing information on patient assessment and progress, and information regarding recreation therapy management of patients.
• Regularly attends continuing education programs on issues pertaining to recreation therapy.

• Schedules/Cancels appointments and interprets/verifies provider orders/consults in accordance with VHA Scheduling directives and guidelines.

• Participates in team huddles and team meetings to manage, plan, problem solve, and follow-up with patient care by sharing information and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

• Enters appropriate information into the electronic record; monitors pre-appointment information and/or requirements to assure readiness for patient visit/procedure.
• Evaluates patient information and clinic schedule lists to determine whether the patient requires an immediate appointment; informs team members about shared patients (i.e., those who receive their care at multiple VA centers or those who receive care in the community)
• Supports Patient Safety standards using the correct Veterans Affairs identification of all patients and adheres to standards/responsibilities in responding to medical emergencies.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performs a variety of support duties that facilitates the work of physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nursing assistants and other members of the medical facility who provide Veteran care.

• Assists with Veterans who commonly present with acute episodes of psychotic/behavioral issues associated with the DSM-V. Some of the patients may present with a concomitant substance use intoxication that may need detoxification while being treated for their presenting psychiatric disorder.
• The incumbent has the ability to work independently including setting priorities and coordinating work. Incumbent must be capable of exercising sound judgment in assigning a priority order to those requests which best serves the interest of the Veteran and the unit.
• The LPN must be flexible enough to adjust work plans to include the demands received in the form of an administrative problem to which they usually independently applies a solution. The employee decides what needs to be done by choosing from various options that require recognition of and differences among a few easily recognizable alternatives.
• Processes Veterans for admissions, transfer, or discharge following established written nursing program guidelines.
• Work affects the efficiency, accuracy, and acceptability of further processes or services including Veteran care.
• Work consists of personal nursing care duties, treatments, diagnostic support, recording, Veteran teaching and rehabilitation. Recurring duties are carried out independently and employee is able to vary basic procedures to meet the individual needs and capabilities of the Veteran.
