The post holder will ensure that all aspects of nursing and multi-disciplinary care is delivered to agreed high standards which provide the best possible experience and outcome to service users across services in Community Health Services. Working with the Lead Nurses for Quality and Safety as well as matrons they will ensure that systems are in place for the local induction of nurses entering the services and overseeing the education, training and professional development of the nursing work force. They will work closely with the other Deputy Directors of Nursing to implement the Nursing Strategy to strengthen, standardise and make more consistent the nursing contribution to inter-professional working across the CSU. The Deputy Director of Nursing will work in partnership with the Chief Nursing Officer to ensure that where nursing practice standards fall short of required standards, appropriate plans and support are in place to secure improvement. The post holder will work across the NW London ICS to support the ICS Chief Pharmacist manage the effective working of medicines governance & access and delivery objectives of the NW London-wide Medicines Optimisation Team. The post holder will have responsibility for the operational management of the Medicines Governance & Access specialism. TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES To manage and be responsible for all aspects of the day to day delivery of the production service ensuring that the service complies with all current regulatory requirements within designated rotation. The successful candidate will play an active role in this busy and prestigious department, working across our Medical and Surgical wards. You will have strong experience in Sleep and ideally in Ventilation also. You will be actively involved in the team roster and have experience in the setting up/analyzing of diagnostic sleep studies (e.g-Respiratory Polygraphy and Full Polysomnography) and in implementing treatment with CPAP therapy and Noninvasive ventilation in the inpatient and outpatient setting. You will be directly involved in the training and support of junior staff running teaching sessions and facilitating competency requirements. The role will require you to participate in consultant lead CPAP and NIV clinics both face to face and virtual.
