Working under the supervision of Registered Nurses and within Trust guidelines and protocols, you’ll assist the Nursing team in delivering the excellent standard of patient care that you would expect for yourself and your loved ones.

Your main duties will involve supporting the nursing team with basic patient care needs, replenishing stock and ensuring the tidiness and appearance of the department is conducive to good patient care.

Following on the job training and assessment, you’ll learn how to undertake a range of delegated, clinical care duties that include supporting patients with basic care, maintaining stock levels, up keep of the environment and decontamination of shared patient equipment within the clinical area.

The role of the Clinical Environmental Assistant is mainly one of support to the staff and does NOT have the same degree of patient contact as would be expected in a general ward.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Acting as first point of contact for all users of the Integra software. This will include problem solving, providing user guidance within any finance applications, establishing if referral to the internal IT support or logging a service support request with the Managed Service Supplier (MSS). This will include providing supporting documentation and examples of system errors or malfunctions.
2. Maintaining aspects of the Integra system by scheduling and reviewing system jobs, completing month-end processing and general system housekeeping.
3. Maintaining procedures notes that are the responsibility of the financial systems team, ensuring that all processes and systems are documented and procedures are reviewed and updated on a regular basis in line with audit requirements.
4. Vigorously test new solutions and report problems with evidence to the designated point of contact. Report faults in the software and follow through to fix
5. Testing eForms, reports or other tools to enable process change as per agreed process flow.
6. Continually review and support users on new system processes and reporting.
7. Conforming to the monthly / annual timetables and external reporting deadlines, adhering to the system elements of the timetable, identifying issues and informing appropriate personnel as soon as these arise.
8. Validating, approving and uploading system input files such as payroll, electronic purchase invoices and journals. Resolving queries and escalating issues where appropriate.
9. Production of the NHS transparency reports, credit card expenditure journals and other ad-hoc reporting requirements.
10. Creating and maintaining complex spreadsheet/databases in MS Access / MS Excel including the use of queries, pivots, macros and formulas
11. Responsible for the provision and receipting of sensitive and confidential information and whilst adhering to regulations on internal and external data protection policy and information governance.
12. Ensuring secure and relevant access to the Integra system through the set up and maintenance of appropriate security records and user group menus to ensure this meets the requirements of segregation of duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Acting as first point of contact for all users of the Integra software. This will include problem solving, providing user guidance within any finance applications, establishing if referral to the internal IT support or logging a service support request with the Managed Service Supplier (MSS). The Haematology Day Unit healthcare worker plays a crucial and active role in achieving the smooth day to day running of the Haematology Day Unit. The post holder will work closely with consultants, nurses, admin colleagues and other professionals to provide a high-quality service to all staff, our patients and their relatives. The post holder will be required to undertake venepuncture for haematology patients and will assist with the care of patients undergoing bone marrow procedures. We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and highly motivated Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our inpatient Occupational Therapy Team. The post is based at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in South Manchester.

This full-time position lends opportunities to work with adult surgical, clinical and medical oncology patients

The Occupational Therapy Assistant will work as part of the Rehabilitation Unit team. They will provide planned care to patients undergoing cancer treatment, symptom control, palliative care and rehabilitation and be able to take appropriate action to achieve the planned aims.

Alongside clinical duties, the post-holder will also be responsible for carrying out regular stock check, ordering of equipment and supporting the Occupational Therapy Team with onward referrals. They will work alongside other staff members and disciplines to ensure the Rehabilitation Unit remains a safe patient environment.

The post-holder will be encouraged to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, utilising excellent interpersonal skills within the inpatient setting and with the relevant community services to ensure a seamless transfer of care for our patients.

We are a friendly and supportive team and aim to give our junior staff members a good grounding in oncology and palliative care. The department puts emphasis on staff health and well-being, and individuals are invited to participate in regular supervision and debrief sessions to support them in their role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



CLINICAL
1. To carry a caseload of patients under the supervision – direct and indirect – of a registered therapist.
2. To complete Occupational Therapy assessments to identify deficits, agree treatment goals and formulate individualised treatment plans under the guidance of registered therapists as required
3. To support with departmental administrative tasks as required e.g. answering telephone, completing community referrals; and ordering adaptive equipment, as prescribed by the Occupational Therapy team.
4. To contribute to the planning, running and evaluating of meaningful therapeutic groups.
5. To assess and develop treatment plans for patients’ rehabilitation and be independent in progressing the patient’s rehabilitation programme.
6. To proactively feedback to the Occupational Therapist and other MDT members as appropriate regarding the patient’s progress in treatment sessions, and document in the patient’s electronic notes.
7. To be accountable for your actions and omissions in practice and be able to justify decisions using clinical reasoning.
8. To assist with moving and handling assessments.
9. To undertake mobility practice, personal care/ADL practice, stair practice or other occupational tasks to progress patients towards discharge.
10. To assess and to prescribe adaptive equipment.

To demonstrate effective communication skills with patients their family/carer and wider community services and to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity at all times to the emotional needs of the patient and their carer’s, offering reassurance and empathy.
