Tai Chi is a mind-body exercise combining slow-flowing intentional movements with breathing, awareness and visualization. Rooted in the Asian traditions of martial arts, Chinese medicine and philosophy, Tai chi enhances relaxation, vitality, focus, posture, balance, strength, flexibility, and mood.

Qigong is an ancient Chinese healing art, older than, and similar to tai chi, with a focus of cultivating the body's vital energy or qi. It involves the coordination of the breath, posture, awareness, visualization and focused movements. Qigong may be a stationary or moving meditation.

Tai Chi/Qigong Instructors are responsible for independently conducting tai chi and qigong well-being classes. Tai Chi/Qigong Instructors develop and share educational information including written instruction for 'at home' and 'self-care' practices with class participants. They prepare and set up tai chi and/or qigong equipment to support scheduled events and activities ensuring that class areas are clean, safe and set according to procedures. They are responsible for planning and coordinating with other staff members the details of tai chi/qigong activities to make maximum use of facilities,
services and other resources (for example, maintaining a calendar of events). They may develop a calendar or schedule of classes for participants based on facility need. Tai Chi/Qigong Instructors conduct regular inventories and ensure that all supply and equipment requirements are identified/justified and requested through proper channels and that any equipment/facility problems are reported to the management team. Tai
Chi/Qigong Instructors may develop promotional material based on current research that informs healthcare providers and patients about the benefits of tai chi and/or qigong to encourage participation. They are also responsible for identifying and sharing with patients the tai chi and/or qigong resources that are available in the local community. Tai Chi/Qigong Instructors act as mentors to Tai Chi and/or Qigong Instructor trainees and new employees. They effectively communicate to leadership issues surrounding tai chi and/or qigong and discuss program progress related to utilization, patient outcomes, satisfaction, etc. Tai Chi/Qigong Instructors evaluate the effectiveness of ongoing tai chi/qigong programs from the standpoint of participant response, resources, unforeseen developments and program objectives in order to develop best practices.

Tai Chi/Qigong Instructors document participation in the Veteran's electronic health record (EHR). They maintain their individual class and activity schedule. The Tai Chi/Qigong Instructor shall maintain up-to-date with VHA and professional trainings. Required professional meetings must be attended.

As an IT Specialist, you will:

The Substation Operator (Instructor) must have the technical qualifications and knowledge required to perform all duties, tasks, and responsibilities contained in the Substation Operator/D.C. Substation Operator job standard. While permanently assigned to the TTC, the incumbent is required to maintain currency in work practices, safety procedures, and certifications of the trade. The job may perform field work.

As a Substation Operator (Instructor), you will:

• Collaborates with Transmission Field Services (TFS) management, craft committee, and functional team in development of course outlines, lesson plans, and testing and evaluation materials to meet craft training objectives established by management.
• Provides instruction in general trade theory and substation operations and switching practices and procedure utilizing various delivery approaches or combination of methods (e.g., classroom, virtual, simulated controlled environment, etc.)
• Provide reports and feedback to managers, field supervisors, or Craft Committees, as appropriate.
• Sets the pace and example of behavior on the jobs (field/classroom), explain work rules, regulations, and policies.
• Develops assessment methods and instruments (written examination, skills-based exercises, etc.) appropriate for the subject matter.
• Plan, schedule and coordinate training courses. Arranges for guest speakers/instructors, arranges equipment and suitable training locations based on need (e.g., field, lab, etc.) or subject matter (physical/virtual).

As an Electrician (Instructor), you will:
