About the role
Nottingham City Council has an ambition to become an effective research partner and research active organisation, embedding evidence in all decision making. In order to achieve this, we will need to develop a systematic approach for guiding colleagues, provide training and support on finding and applying evidence to inform decisions and processes, and develop research infrastructure including governance, to support research proposals and their delivery. About The Role
Belvoir Lodge is a 5-bed residential care home in Nottingham! We support adults with learning and physical disabilities to live a life they love. Each of the individuals we support here at Belvoir Lodge has their own bedroom which is decorated however they like! The individuals we support at Belvoir Lodge love spending time in the garden, playing lots of games and spending time with friends and family! We love nothing more than a BBQ in the lovely sunshine and cooking up a storm inside too! We love parting and celebrating each other’s birthdays with lots of cake and music! What skills and experience we're looking for

ESSENTIAL

Relevant ‘A’ Levels (or equivalent) and degree

Qualified Teacher Status

Relevant teaching experience or teaching practice

Experience of working with students of a wide range of abilities

An understanding of current educational developments and a clear grasp of issues relating to education in general and their subject specialism(s);

The theory and practice of providing effectively for the individual needs of all children (e.g. classroom organisation and learning strategies);

Statutory National Curriculum requirements at the appropriate key stage;

The monitoring, assessment, recording and reporting of pupils’ progress;

The statutory requirements of legislation concerning Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, SEN and Child Protection;

The positive links necessary within the Academy and with all its stakeholders;

Effective teaching and learning styles.

Ability to use innovative, active teaching methods

Ability to use ICT as a learning/admin tool

An ability to work in collaborative partnership with the full range of people associated with the Trust - staff, parents, governors, community, business, Diocese and LA

Effective communication skills, written and verbal

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Teach within the Business team on a range of programmes - BTEC Level 1 & 2
• Be up to date to plan, deliver and assess high quality teaching as required by your Line Manager to the appropriate number of hours
• Being responsible for the progress, assessment, welfare and discipline of the pupils she/he teaches under the direction of, and with the support of the Head of Department;
• Enabling pupils to achieve the highest standards at an individual level;
• Monitoring, assessing and the progress of all pupils;
• Identifying any pupil with special learning needs and taking appropriate action;
• Contributing to the preparation of units of work for use throughout the department;
• Setting regularly and marking homework for all pupils in accordance with the school policies;
• Working under the general direction of the Head of Department, adhering to and helping to develop department resources.

Skills & experience

• Right to Work & Enhanced Adult/Child DBS on the update service
• A UK recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, DTLLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent is essential
• Experience of delivering the subject.
• Evidence of good classroom practice and excellent teaching, including the use of different learning styles.
• Evidence of teaching, which demonstrates good progress and achievement of pupils across the ability range.
• Ability to work as a team member and to form good working relationships with
• Good communication, organisational and administrative skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and show good attention to detail.
• Ability to undertake tasks related to monitoring and evaluation.
