About the Role
This is an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Lecturer in Periodontics to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of dental education and research at the Melbourne Dental School. Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will have extensive clinical experience in Periodontics and a strong research track record. They will excel in multidisciplinary and collaborative research, attracting grants and consultancies, and demonstrate excellence in clinical teaching and course development. Additionally, they will effectively explore new educational methods, supervise research students, and work both independently and collaboratively, building rapport within a diverse work environment.

You will also have:

A completed PhD in a relevant field such as Periodontics or a related discipline and a completed specialist dental qualification in Periodontics or Periodontology with the ability to register with the Dental Board of Australia through APHRA (with no current or prior notifications).
Extensive clinical experience in Periodontics with a strong track record in research with a developing publication profile.
Experience in clinical teaching in dentistry and demonstrated ability for excellence in clinical teaching including the capacity to initiate and develop course development and teaching materials.

A postdoctoral research fellow position in particle accelerator-based research at the Pelletron accelerator laboratory in The School of Physics, University of Melbourne.
The successful applicant will undertake independent and collaborative research activities on a beamline equipped with a unique microanalysis and mapping capability based on a MAIA pixelated X-ray detector array. The instrument provides elemental mapping and microanalysis capabilities at micron resolution over large sample areas allowing researchers and technologists across diverse fields to perform measurements that are extremely rich in data content and difficult to perform by other means.

About the Role
The Lecturer, Small Animal Clinical Studies (Diagnostic Imaging), will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional teaching and clinical service at the University of Melbourne’s Melbourne Veterinary School.

Working within the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, this position will contribute to the education and learning of veterinary students, particularly in the area of small animal diagnostic imaging.

The Lecturer will be responsible for delivering teaching content, developing and conducting tutorials and workshops, and providing clinical teaching during student rotations. They will also actively participate in leadership and service within the University and broader community and collaborate with partnering veterinary practices to ensure the integration of academic and clinical experiences.

Your responsibilities will include:

Deliver teaching and training content to all years of the DVM, in particular DVM4, developed for Melbourne Veterinary School by external educational providers (such as Animal Imaging Pty Ltd) and work closely with external providers to ensure a good working relationship.
Participate in training provided by external educational providers to achieve the required levels of skills, knowledge and competency to successfully deliver externally-provided educational and training materials and maintain currency.
Make independent and innovative contributions to teaching and learning at all levels of the DVM including workplace integrated learning in DVM4, which enhance student learning and experience.
Work flexibly across clinical disciplines to provide support for DVM4 workplace integrated learning (core and track clinical rotations) through provision of student inductions, clinical rounds, mentoring students, being a point of contact for students and staff, and collating and delivering formative and summative feedback to students.
Deliver teaching and assessment in a variety of settings by conducting tutorials, lectures, practical demonstrations, seminars, computer-based learning exercises and laboratory-based workshops which may extend to individual consultations and provision of online resources.

About the Role
We are currently seeking two Postdoctoral Research Fellows to support the NHMRC Synergy Grant-funded “Implementation of x-ray PhAse-Contrast Tomography to transform cancer diagnosis” (IMPACT) program. The IMPACT program aims to transform the diagnosis of breast and lung cancers worldwide using propagation-based phase-contrast computed tomography (PB-CT).

The Postdoctoral Research Assistants will lead the imaging side of IMPACT in breast CT and lung imaging streams, working closely with the Australian Synchrotron and multidisciplinary research teams at the universities of Melbourne, Monash, and Sydney. You’ll contribute to important research that establishes a path to the clinical implementation of PC-CT as a novel low-dose, high-quality imaging technique. About the Role

About the Role
The research focused position involves both applied econometrics and applied macroeconomics, undertaking directed research on nowcasting and structural modelling as a member of a multi-institutional team.

Nowcasting is determining and understanding the current state of the economy. It is fundamental to macroeconomic policy making. The availability of new data and methods make it an exciting time to research nowcasting and there is the possibility of making a real policy impact.

The position is funded by an Australian Research Council Discovery Grant “Nowcasting and Interpreting the Australian Economy” (DP230100959). The aim of this grant is to produce high- quality research papers developing novel nowcasting methodologies that will enable the timely interpretation of economic developments. Fiscal policy will be a particular area of focus. This work is intended to inform economic policy in Australia. The research team includes: Dr Tim Robinson, Professor Kalvinder Shields and Dr Yong Song (University of Melbourne), Professor Kevin Lee (University of Nottingham), Dr Luke Hartigan (University of Sydney), Mr David Stephan, Dr Khanh Hoang and Dr Zhuo Li (Australian Treasury).

Your responsibilities will include:

Collaborating with the Chief and Partner Investigators to conduct the research outlined in the grant
Conducting academic/engaged research under the direction of a supervisor
Producing and disseminating working papers and presentations based on academic research
Who We Are Looking For
You should have experience in at least two of the following areas: state-space modelling, factor models, Structural Vector AutoRegressions (SVARs), and Machine Learning algorithms like Recurrent Neural Networks. Additionally, you should possess knowledge of the relevant applied macroeconomic literature and the ability to apply it, including explaining economic motivations for identification strategies in SVAR. Furthermore, you must have knowledge of, and experience in, at least one of Matlab, R, Python, or similar. About the Role

You will be a current or aspiring leader in international-quality research, with publications in high quality journals and conferences, and capacity to mentor research students and secure independent external grant and industry funding to support a program of research.

Your responsibilities will include:

Coordinate and conduct lectures and tutorials at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including engagement in teaching innovation and improvement;
Provide a significant degree of scholarly research initiative and collaboration in the specific discipline;
Build and foster partnerships with industry, government, collaborators at other Universities and other stakeholders that contribute to the engagement of teaching and research in the wider community engagement.
Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate for this role is a dynamic academic with expertise in power generation and propulsion or related fields, demonstrating leadership in research, a strong publication record, and a passion for mentoring students and contributing to the academic community. You should also exhibit strong collaboration skills, a commitment to excellence in teaching, and a proactive approach to securing research grants and exploring innovative advancements in your field.

You will also have:

A PhD in power generation or propulsion;
Demonstrated ability to perform independent research evidenced through a track record of publications in high-impact peer-reviewed and refereed journals;
Demonstrated commitment to interdisciplinary research.
