As part of this new team, you will be supporting Matt, who has moved into his own home in Brixham, after spending several years in hospital in Cardiff. Matt is looking for a team that can support him in his new home.

Matt has trouble understanding the do's and don'ts of life, but he does have a high level of intelligence that includes reading, writing, excellent recall, operating a laptop, iPad, games, and he also enjoys pen and paper hangman. Patience and flexibility with Matt are important and there are numerous interests he finds enjoyment in that includes: music, dance, stories, film scenes - called up from the internet - films and comedy series.

The salary for this permanent Assistant Service Manager role is £27,154.

Main Duties:
• You and your team will be supporting them to live as independently as possible in the community and help them to create their own home

Key Responsibilities:
• Experience in a similar role within social care e.g. Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager, Supervisor, Team Leader etc.
• Experience supporting people who have learning disabilities and/or complex needs
• Experience of managing budgets and financial information
• Knowledge of sector relevant legislation regulatory bodies and their standards
• Ability to work with your Service Manager to manage and lead a successful and positive team.
• Understands the balance between keeping our people safe and positive risk taking.
• Stay up to date with policies and procedures to carry out and maintain safe and best practices.
• Support the Service Manager to recruit new employees and develop and manage your staff team in a fair and consistent manner.
• Work with your Service Manager to reinforce a positive culture of continuous improvement.
• Act as the Service Manager in their absence.
• To be able to take part in a management cover rota which could include day and night shifts.
