The College is looking to appoint a dynamic, flexible and pro-active individual, responsible for student pastoral support needs and providing effective interventions for students that disengage with their studies.

The focus of this role is to support positive student engagement (both young people and adults) and to identity and resolve barriers to positive attendance, retention and achievement.

As a key member of the Student Support and Experience Team, you will take responsibility for providing timely interventions and support teaching and support colleagues to effectively safeguarded students and determine strategies to address pastoral and engagement issues, including maximising external agency support and outreach services.

You will champion pastoral themes and provide an engaging prevention and ‘early help’ offer as part of a centralised Pastoral Hub. You must demonstrate excellent use of initiative; have strong communication skills and the ability to work with individuals from a range of backgrounds.

You must have previous professional experience of working hard to engage individuals and have a strong understanding of the range of issues facing young people which may present barriers to educational achievement. You will also have significant experience of working with a range of disengaged young people and experience of motivating individuals to influence positive engagement and change in attitude/behaviour.

You will have a Level 2 Qualification or equivalent in numeracy and literacy. A Level 3 professional qualification in Educations, Child Care, Social Care, Youth Work or Health would be an advantage.

They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care for patients within the general practice. They will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing clinical leadership as required. Key Responsibilities Clinical role The post-holder will Make professionally autonomous decisions for which he/she is accountable Provide face to face visits via a clinical ward round during the working week. Provide a first point of contact for Nursing Homes for advice regarding medical/nursing conditions of patients, making use of skills in history taking, physical examination, problem-solving and clinical decision-making, to establish a diagnosis and management plan. This includes a comprehensive review (ensuring coding of all significant health conditions and allergies) of newly admitted patients to the Nursing Home and patients readmitted to the Nursing Home following discharge from hospital. This process would include a post-discharge reconciliation of the medication. Instigate necessary invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests or investigations and interpret findings/reports To prescribe safe, effective and appropriate medication as defined by current legislative framework. This would include the prescription of monthly repeat medication, acute medication and the additional/cessation of medication as indicated (e.g. following discharge from hospital or from the advice of other healthcare professions including but not limited to specialist consultants). Additionally, this includes liaison with both community pharmacists (for example to ensure the continuity of supply of medication) and other pharmacists (including the medicines management pharmacists from GSTT). Provide polypharmacy/drug reviews of medications. To prescribe medication safely and in line with local CCG/national guidance including evidence based and cost-effective prescribing. Provide safe, evidence-based, cost-effective, individualised patient care. This significantly includes documentation about resuscitation and advanced care planning (onto recognised registers such as Co-ordinate My Care) of all patients newly admitted to the Nursing Home as well as a retrospective review of already admitted patients where such resuscitation and advanced care planning discussions have not yet been performed. This is likely to be performed with the patient and/or their representatives (dependent on circumstances including where which involving the patient may not be appropriate) and also be done in Best Interest meetings with other relevant healthcare professionals where a patient lacks capacity about advanced care decision making (and where an advanced directive does not exist). Offer a holistic service to patients and their families, developing where appropriate an on-going plan of care/support, with an emphasis on prevention and self-care Promote health and well-being through the use of health promotion, health education, screening and therapeutic communication skills Refer patients directly to other services/agencies as appropriate including social services and allied agencies/services. The MPGS provides professional soldiers to meet armed security requirements at Royal Navy, Army, RAF and other MOD bases across the UK Mainland. Our primary role is to counter the terrorist threat posed to military bases within the UK

Our duties include:

Security incident management - Such as suspicious packages, bomb threats, protests, etc.

Patrolling site perimeters - Taking necessary action to preserve perimeter security.

Controlling entry and exit - Managing control room and gate operations and ensuring all visitors are dealt with efficiently.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified psychologists with the experience, skills and competencies to undertake the duties and responsibilities of the above post in adult mental health. The post is primarily to provide assessment, psychological therapy and consultation for the care of service users within the Blackburn with Darwen areas.

The teams provide services to people with complex mental health needs. Psychological therapies and psychologically informed care are valued within the teams and network, and are fully integrated within mainstream adult mental health services. The post holder will be operationally managed within the teams as a core team member, while strong professional leadership works alongside operational management to support the role.

An interest in working with individuals experiencing significant levels of complexity and personality difficulties will be essential. Good team working skills are also essential, as are abilities in providing consultation / supervision to team colleagues and other psychological therapists. Skills in group approaches, or an interest in developing these, would be an asset.

The post holder will develop links with psychological therapists within other CMHTs and specialist networks. Clinical and professional supervision is provided, and a growing network of complex case fora and psychological therapy models afford excellent opportunities for the post holder to develop their skills in multidisciplinary team working and psychologically informed care.
