What do I need? - No experience is needed as a full 2-day technical service familiarisation seminar available, at a site local to you. You do not need your own vehicle and there is no initial outlay of any cost. We do however require the following (essential):

• Held a full UK Manual Driver Licence for at least 2 years (registered to your current home address).
• No more than 9 points on your licence (and no serious motoring offences).
• Aged 21 or over (for insurance purposes).
• Are punctual and reliable with a polite and professional demeanour.
• Excellent customer service skills.

What will I be doing? - You will be collecting a variety of different vehicles from clients, checking they are safe for you to drive and delivering these to the required destination. On some occasions you may carry out an inspection on the vehicles.

Position Overview

As a Dispatcher with the C&S Family of Companies, you serve as the primary point of contact for a group of professional drivers (primarily Class A CDL holders). This role is responsible for dispatching loads and ensuring the drivers are set up for success- communicating special instructions for each assignment, assigning the correct equipment, and providing coordination as needed. The dispatcher is tasked with executing the day's workload and informing the correct stakeholders (internal and external) of any deviations from plan. You Will Contribute By:

• Review routing and scheduling plan for the shift to ensure all assignments are covered.
• Dispatch routes and relay information, instruction, and/or messages to drivers.
• Ensure every driver has what they need to be successful for the day. If loads are uncovered, work with the team to develop a coverage plan, and communicate accordingly.
• Utilize appropriate channels to clearly communicate information pertaining to daily transportation operations. Issues may include, but are not limited to: delivery time / plan adjustments, missing product, hours of service issues, safety incidents, etc.
• Update customer portal when applicable
• Engage with the driver workforce. Help site leadership create a best in class work environment. Promptly escalate issues to management and offer solutions on how to resolve.
• Responsible for updating the dispatch system to ensure accuracy of information. When a driver returns, complete a debrief process to see how the driver's day went, review paperwork, and make system updates as needed.
• Answer phones in a professional manner- troubleshoot and escalate when necessary.
• Complete daily safety observations ensuring transportation associates are utilizing preferred work practices.
• Ensure drivers are compliant with DOT regulations regarding Hours of Service.

• Performs difficult and very complex field engineering assignments involving the development, execution, supervision, and coordination of all technical aspects of a construction project.  

• Maintains first level quality assurance to confirm that the installation of all work within his/her discipline is in accordance with the plans, specifications, and industry standards. 

• Supervises the construction engineering work and provide technical expertise for one or more of the construction engineering disciplines, as well as survey personnel.  

• Supervises Construction Inspectors, ensuring that tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented in accordance with approved procedures.  

• Monitors and coordinates all contractors' activities for assigned area.  

• Collaborates with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees. 

• Ensures that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site-specific safety procedures and industry standards.  

• Establishes and maintains liaison with the discipline design engineering staff. 

• Reviews and interprets discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure current re vision level and correct technical execution of the work.  

• Provides resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline(s); coordinates application of solutions.  

• Develops discipline construction schedules and monitors progress. 

• Provides schedule and progress appraisal report to the Construction Manager.  

• Monitors material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline. 

• Ensures that materials received meet specifications and established standards of quality.  

• Organizes the accumulation of assigned discipline data for the final project turnover and report.  

• Initiates and maintains records, backcharge procedures, progress reports, etc., as required.  

• Interfaces with the client and upper level management.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction related field, or equivalent construction related work experience, as well as 8+ years of experience in field construction is required

• Requires a comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction related processes, as well as industry practices

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Position forks, lifting platform, or other lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials, transports, load and unload to a designated area

• Complete daily forklift maintenance/check sheet
• Lead safety inspections on truck chalking and glad-hand process
