SELF-EMPLOYED VEHICLE COLLECTION AND DELIVERY DRIVER / TRADE PLATE DRIVER PART/FULL TIME

Here at BCA Logistics, we touch over a million vehicles a year, working with manufacturers, fleet operators and dealers to provide the backbone of the UK's automotive supply chain.

Due to our ever-increasing volumes, we are looking to engage additional Self-Employed Driver contractors throughout the UK who can help us deliver that service.

What do I need? - No experience is needed as a full 2-day technical service familiarisation seminar available, at a site local to you. You do not need your own vehicle and there is no initial outlay of any cost. We do however require the following (essential):

• Held a full UK Manual Driver Licence for at least 2 years (registered to your current home address).
• No more than 9 points on your licence (and no serious motoring offences).
• Aged 21 or over (for insurance purposes).
• Are punctual and reliable with a polite and professional demeanour.
• Excellent customer service skills.

What will I be doing? - You will be collecting a variety of different vehicles from clients, checking they are safe for you to drive and delivering these to the required destination. On some occasions you may carry out an inspection on the vehicles.

• Handling vehicles with care and professionalism.
• Keeping clients informed of estimated arrival time and any possible delays.

Logistics Services Assistant - 12 Week Rota

Grade - Band 2

Hours –37.5 hours per week 12 week rota including weekends and Bank Holidays

Salary – £22,383 per annum pro rata

Site - Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital

A driving licence for vehicles with manual gear boxes is required for this role.

The purpose of our team is to actively support all Logistical aspects of our busy Acute Teaching Hospitals and of supporting our NHS colleagues out in the community.

We are a very busy department providing logistical movements of goods, including postal service on site, across sites and around the East Lancashire area with the very occasional Patient transport duty off site. You will be based as per this advert however you may be required to work from any of the ELHT sites.

Ensure collection and delivery of goods, food, waste including clinical waste throughout the Trust is removed and disposed of following strict policy and standard operating practices over the 24/7 period

Our team is responsible for replacing medical gas cylinders removing the empty ones in various areas of the Trust and ensuring safe transportation and storage procedures are followed

We have daily Pharmacy, Pathology and various other stock/top up and collection runs to perform during the course of the working day, which may include handling blood and other sample products in sealed containers

There may be a requirement to support the offsite Logistics teams in delivering and collecting from GP’s and clinics in the local area. To aid this it is essential that you hold a current UK driving licence and would be advantageous if you had a driver Certificate of Professional Competence, and category C1

If successful at the shortlist stage you will be required as part of the interview process to take part in a practical assessment, short reading and writing test to assess your ability to read and retain information given to you

The successful candidate will also need to undertake a driving assessment. You should also note that any offer of employment will be subject to the Trust terms and conditions along with the satisfactory completion of a driving assessment and you must complete a satisfactory driving assessment each year to retain your employment in this role
