Our Parsons Irvine, California office is now hiring for a Civil Roadway Transportation Engineer II to join our team! In this role you will get to support major road and highway projects for Caltrans and other regional clients.
Overview:
Parsons has an exciting job opportunity for a Civil Transportation Engineer II to join the expanding transportation infrastructure team with our Irvine, California office.
In this role, you will be engaged in design engineering work and contribute to the successful project delivery for a diverse range of projects in the Southern California region. The engineer at this level is in a developmental mode, being trained under close supervision in the utilization of engineering theories and practices while gaining exposure to company and industry procedures. You will be part of a team which primarily supports Caltrans projects and works on various projects with the regional transportation planning agencies, counties, cities, and transit agencies. The position is office based, but offers a hybrid model (2 to 3 days in the office) and a 9/80 flex schedule.
Responsibilities:
· Will work often with senior engineers, perform various roadway engineering and design assignments requiring the application of engineering techniques, procedures and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity.
· Utilize drafting and 3D modeling software, tools, and programs, to develop conceptual and detailed designs.
· Perform design calculations including material quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates.
· Assist in the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and specifications for assigned projects.
· Assist in the preparation of detailed requisitions for material purchase, services, and subcontracts.
· Assist in reviewing supplier drawing submittals and technical bid analyses.
· Provide input to CAD Designer/Drafters working on the same project.
· Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
· 5 years or more of related work experience with road and highway projects
· Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is essential.
· Professional Engineer (PE) Registration is highly desirable, but not required
Skills and Competencies:
· Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation Geopak and/or InRoads, is preferred.
· The ability to communicate and effectively participate as part of an engineering team.

Salary Range:
$68,400.00 - $142,600.00
