About the Role

We are looking for a values based Quality Assurance Officer to join our team.

The post is hybrid, and the successful applicant will be expected to travel into Kingston up to twice a week to conduct Quality Assurance visits to Adult Social Care providers, as well as to work in the office at the Guildhall Complex up to twice a month. The day to day work includes:

Conduct Quality Assurance visits to providers of home care, care homes, supported living, and other sites.

Support providers in resolving concerns about their service

Support providers through the Provider Concerns Process, if serious risks are identified.

Support the team manager in facilitating meetings with stakeholders and forums with providers to raise awareness and share experiences.

About you

Essential qualifications, experience and skills we are looking for include:

Experience of working with providers of adult social care

Experience of working with local authorities and/or health providers

Experience of supporting adult safeguarding concerns,

Knowledge of relevant legislation, such as the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act

The Role


Reporting directly to the Quality Leads you'll assist them in solving complex, challenging issues and help ensure Quality Delivery ways of working are effective in achieving right first-time delivery.

You’ll be supporting the Quality Leads in managing daily PDO Quality QA/QC activities, including creating, reviewing, updating and reporting on PDO Quality governance, manufacturing/construction documents.

You’ll have opportunities to take ownership and drive improvements, such as developing processes and procedures, audit plans, implementing new methodologies using problem solving techniques to identify and resolve issues.

You’ll enjoy the opportunity to occasionally travel to project locations within the UK in order to achieve close collaboration with our wider project team members and other stakeholders.

Who You Are

You’ll have experience of working in the Manufacturing/Construction/Engineering industry and experience of working within an ISO 9001 operating environment.

You’ll also have experience of working within a project environment. Experience in implementing and maintaining Quality Governance frameworks in accordance with regulatory requirements and project specifications.

Proficiency developing and reviewing QA-related procedures, templates and forms, with a solid grasp of QA best practices.

Experience conducting quality checks, identifying non-conformances and implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Competent in producing, tracking and analysing quality key performance indicators (KPIs) and creating QA Dashboards.

You’ll be IT literate with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Outlook and SharePoint.

Experience in QA/QC and use of reporting tools, with a focus on continuous improvement.

You’ll be organised, have a good attention to detail, with a structured approach to work planning and execution.

Your new role

• Provide technical advice through the preparation of reports and briefings on building safety, building regulations, dangerous structures and land charges regulatory issues.
• Contribute to Council responses to government consultations and technical reviews in relation to building safety, building regulations, dangerous and temporary structures and land charges regulatory issues
• Provide support to the Building Safety Regulator under Section 13 of the Building Safety Act 2022 in the regulation of Higher-risk buildings and enforcement of the building regulations.
• Ensure full cost recovery for the Council in support of the Building Safety Regulator as set out in the Building Safety (Fees and Charges) Regulations (2023).
• Ensure that 'restricted activities' are only undertaken by the Building Control Authority upon the advice of a registered building inspector with the appropriate class registration for the building type.
• Ensure that the Council's building inspectors meet the requirements of the Building Safety Regulator in relation to competency assessment, training and development.
• Enforce the building regulations within the Borough using powers under the Building Safety Act 2022 and Building Act 1984 to ensure public safety.
• Investigate offences under Section 57 of the Building Act 1984, prosecuting cases as required.

This is a hybrid position, requiring you to attend your local branch a minimum of two days a week while working from home for the remaining three days. Additionally, you will need to travel to Petty France (London) for meetings every 6-7 weeks. This role is a Temporary role covering Maternity leave so, the contract is likely to be around 12 months long.

Key Responsibilities:

• Upload data from CPFSI letters, including appointments and outcome letters (approximately 50 entries per week).
• Provide user support for the CPFSI tracker to enhance team effectiveness and front-line user experience.
• Collaborate with the Business Manager to manage the tracker and produce monthly risk reports.
• Monitor audit data to identify trends and address fire safety issues.
• Perform general administrative duties, including email correspondence and inbox management.

Project Support:

• Assist with the fire strategy project for the NPS portfolio, ensuring effective communication with project suppliers and FM colleagues.
• Source necessary documents for site visits and maintain a tracker of project costs and survey progress for quality assurance.

Reporting:

• Generate data reports on current fire safety trends for upward reporting.
• Contribute to monthly dashboards prepared by the Team Lead for presentation to the Head of PATS.

Administrative Support:

• Manage the central fire safety mailbox, allocating inquiries to advisers and maintaining task records for monthly reporting.
• Oversee the completion of the FRA QA tracker and analyse findings for quarterly meetings.

My client is an instantly recognisable organisation who urgently require an Infosec Risk Assurance Lead to join a business critical programme.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience working as an Infosec Risk Assurance Lead in large, complex organisations (preferably Financial Services).
• Strong working knowledge of information security standards, frameworks and best practices (i.e. ISO27001, NIST, COBIT).
• The ability to effectively problem solve, think analytically and make decisions in high pressure environments.
• Strong understanding of risk management principles, tools, frameworks and methodologies.
• Demonstrable leadership and collaborative skills.
• Familiarity of risk management software or GRC tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
