The role
As a Senior Nuclear Assurance Inspector, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Reporting to the Head of Nuclear Assurance, you will monitor all nuclear assurance activities across the Submarine Dismantling Programme.
- Provide independent oversight across nuclear activities, promoting attitudes and behaviours that encourage constructive challenge.
- Lead specific nuclear related interventions ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Review and align our nuclear processes with industry best practice and any change with external regulatory legislation.
- You'll lead on independent assessments and investigations across nuclear projects, indicating where external independent review is required, or enforcement action is required as directed by the Head of Nuclear Assurance or Nuclear Operations Director.
This role is full time, 36 hours per week from Monday to Thursday and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office at our Rosyth Dockyard, Rosyth, Fife site and 2 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Senior Nuclear Assurance Inspector
- Recent experience in the nuclear and environmental regulatory field.
- Experience of implementing, advising, or regulating Health & Safety arrangements
- You will have worked within a nuclear licensed site and overseen operations, maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Previously managed internal process inspection programmes within external auditor expectations.
Qualifications for the Senior Nuclear Assurance Inspector
- A Science or Nuclear Engineering degree would be preferable however, a HNC and relevant industry experience would be considered.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) and Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
