We're pleased to announce a fantastic opportunity to join the Council’s legal service in its Procurement Team at the Isle of Wight Council as a Procurement Officer. The role(s) are full time, permanent roles with the benefits of flexible working.
The post(s) will play a key role in ensuring the council is compliant in its procurement activities as well as delivering efficiencies and securing best value. The new team member(s) will join a busy, small team and will help the council maximise savings and benefits when it is spending public money in commissioning services, goods and works.
The procurement team is a friendly and supportive service, and we want new team member(s) to work with us to support council colleagues from start to finish on our procurement projects. The role(s) will cover a range of service areas, these may include housing, construction, IT, Social Care, Public Health, Corporate and Finance procurements.
Previous relevant public procurement experience is desirable though we are looking primarily for the right person with clear organisational skills, an ability to understand, quick to learn, work on their own initiative and follow the legal framework that governs public procurement.
