The Purchasing Associate role is an entry level position that supports the purchasing and supply chain department areas of responsibility. It is primarily focused on coordinating purchasing activities. The typical role is responsible for daily coordination and administration of purchase transactions in support of business operations.
*This is a hybrid position that has the ability to work from home a couple days per week.
YOUR IMPACT
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
- Primary objective is the securing and safeguarding of conforming product.
- Manage supplier relationships by enforcing KPI metrics and achievement of operational objectives.
- Proactively identify, communicate, and assist with resolving issues that delay material deliveries.
- Utilize MRP system to process purchase order defers, expedites, cancellations.
- Make tactical buying decisions with respect to the management of purchases to meet scheduled demand
- Facilitate material return process for non-conforming material.
- Participate in supplier performance monitoring meetings to review and improve supplier performance.
- Assist in resolution of supplier invoice discrepancies.
- Support supplier readiness for product launches.
- Participate on project teams leading supply chain optimization initiatives such as cost reduction.
- Minimal infrequent travel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Internship experience or previous experience in supply chain.
- Purchasing experience within the manufacturing industry.
- Experience and proficiency with various web-based software applications including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.
