Job brief: Position- Purchasing Consultant.

Our client, UMS International Ltd., based in Leicester,UK is an established
business in Leicester city and we constantly growing due to the growing
demand in the local area. UMS International, as a business, provide
services like sales of mobiles, electronic accessories, mobile gadgets
etc. Our business is expanding and hence we are in a need of a
Purchasing Consultant to support our growing team. The candidate will
have vast experience and knowledge about Purchasing in the mobile or
electronic industry, accompanied with purchase management experience. This will
assist us, to generate revenue for the growth of the business. This
involves creating strategies that will increase strong purchase of the business, increase customer database, and grow the business to make high level of
customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Identify and manage relationships with reputable mobile phone and accessory manufacturers.
•Negotiate contracts to secure the best pricing and quality.
•Conduct market research to stay updated on trends and competitor offerings, maintaining a competitive edge.
•Manage inventory levels to optimize stock turnover and minimize overstock and stockouts.
•Ensure product quality by coordinating with the quality assurance team to resolve any issues.
•Oversee the entire order management process, from initiation to delivery, ensuring timely and pristine deliveries.
•Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure a continuous and reliable supply chain.
•Monitor purchasing budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
•Collaborate with various teams to align purchasing strategies with business objectives.
•Provide input on platform enhancements to improve user experience and security.
•Stay informed about emerging technologies and best practices to recommend improvements in purchasing processes.
• Strong communication both verbal and written.

Qualifications- The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, with proven experience in purchasing and procurement, particularly in the technology or electronics sector. Strong negotiation, market research, and inventory management skills, along with proficiency in procurement software and e-commerce platforms, are essential.

Your new role
In this new role as a Procurement Manager role you will be managing a small purchasing team and taking ownership of reviewing and improving processes, making a real difference to the way they procure goods and services.Key duties:

• Responsible for establishing procurement processes.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Negotiate and manage various supplier relationships, from short-term tactical to long-term strategic partnerships.
• Ensure all procurement activities are ethically sound, legally compliant and align with the Company's values.
• Drive continuous improvements, risk mitigation and innovation in supplier management practices.
• Take ownership for managing end-to-end procurement including tenders, negotiation, supplier relationships, contract management and spend data analysis.
• Deliver key measures, stock value, on-time deliveries and supplier performance.
• Build positive working positive working relationships across the business and key stakeholders.
• Undertake due diligence of suppliers, ensuring new suppliers are registered on the supplier database and vetted.
• Manage purchase records and supplier contracts.
• Establish quality control and ensure that stock meets Company standards.
• Work with the Finance team and end users to identify and make improvements in the purchase order and goods received processes.
• Investigate and resolve the expediting of parts for quality or delivery concerns.
• Review and analyse material consumption and forecasts to advise on inventory levels.
• Create and report on purchasing metrics.
• Maintain supplier relationships and evaluations, and resolve supplier grievances and/ or disputes.

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience of working in a Buyer's role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience of negotiating with suppliers
• Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, demand, and replenishment processes.
• Proficient in computer skills, especially MS Office and Google applications.
• Ability to influence and negotiate.
• Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

Carbon60 are looking for a Procurement Administrator to join a client of ours based in Leicester on a 12 week temp - perm contract.

Our client is a large engineering company with over 200 sites across the UK and Ireland. They specialise in many different engineering services ranging from providing engineering components to their clients through a logistics service to providing electrical and mechanical maintenance to rotating equipment's.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Accurate supporting documentation is maintained and communicated internally and externally
• Outstanding payments are controlled, and suppliers are paid in a timely manner
• Expedite outstanding payments with suppliers
• Processing cash purchases by either placing order online or sending order to supplier
• Achieve monthly/annual targets set for payment term improvements
• Maintaining pertinent accurate transnational records
• Dealing with incoming queries via centralised email or telephone, redirecting when required
• Team collaboration and contribution to problem solving, improvements and standardising processes
