This an ideal entry level position to gain experience in supply chain and health care with opportunity for growth!  Our Supply Chain Services department manages various medical supplies, fills customers supply phone requests, code cart replenishments, incoming deliveries, tanks, and supports other Supply Chain functions.  The Inventory Associate position is a critical link between department leadership and the SCS store room, ensuring PAR locations are adequately managed for patient care.

As an Inventory Associate, you may not help patients directly, but, your efforts ensure that the patients here get everything they need during their stay. You will have the opportunity to work with multiple departments, which allows for understanding of internal operations that many outside of this department do not have.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides supply receipt, delivery and inventory management services to an assigned area or department of the medical center or facility.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Takes a daily inventory of assigned supply storage area and/or clinical department supplies (Par Carts), requisitions and restocks supplies to par levels. Rotates stock and maintains a clean and orderly storage area in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.

2. Monitors usage, creates utilization reports, consults with clinical supply liaison or appropriate department staff, recommends changes to inventory and par levels.

3. Assists with the procurement of special supply needs and may assist assigned department with the procurement of equipment.

4. Acts as a knowledge resource for clinical or other related staff in the area of supply methods and goods.

5. Works independently under regular supervision. Follows defined procedures and guidelines. Makes decisions about inventory levels. Represents the interests of the organization when interfacing with vendors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

An understanding of inventory management tasks and the ability to work effectively with a computer based inventory management system.

Requires accurate data entry and keyboarding skills, the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, the ability to read and interpret supply requisitions and equipment directions. Must have demonstrated effective customer service skills. Positions in Food Service area must be able to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Previous experience working with medical supplies or food supplies (as applicable) and/or hospital services is strongly preferred and may be required for some work assignments.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

What’s the role?

As a vital member of our team, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the ZEISS Group's future growth through shaping a best-in-class Global Shared Services organization, providing essential support to Business Segments and Business Units. Cost Reduction and Optimization:

What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health

Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. What is expected of you and others at this level in Inventory Management for functional success

• Monitor all cycle count programs and ensure consistency and accuracy.

• Coordinate and oversee daily inventory control tasks which includes item movement based on velocity, cycle counts, internal damage processing and product rotation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.

What Inventory Management contributes to Cardinal Health

Job Summary

Inventory Management plays an integral role in service and inventory optimization across Cardinal Health’s distribution network. *This role is hybrid with 3 days per week in office at our M&T Plaza location in Downtown Buffalo, NY*

Overview:

Serves as owner of a large set of products by representing the voice of the customer and stakeholders to ensure that the product provides value to the customer, while aligning with the Corporate Procurement business strategy.   The Product Owner II defines their product vision and roadmap, prioritizes the product backlog, anticipates client needs and serves as primary communicator between product stakeholders and teams while evaluating product progress at each iteration.   In addition, the Product Owner II plays a key role in the company’s strategic direction, defining and articulating new opportunities, and working in close concert with key stakeholders, including senior leadership and their dedicated agile team.  

Primary Responsibilities:

• Build and own the large product or set of products vision and roadmap that aligns with the overall strategic intent and communicate them with the team and all stakeholders.  Prioritize the backlog(s) based on the overall product vision and strategy.
• Represent the voice of the customer within the team and convey story details to the team; make autonomous decisions, quickly and thoughtfully, to move delivery forward in alignment with overall product vision and strategy.
• Write user stories and groom the backlog in partnership with the team.  Specify acceptance criteria for each user story in support of moving the team to Acceptance Test-Driven Development (ATDD).
• Work directly with the delivery team to create appropriate information radiators and other communication tools for internal team and stakeholder use to show progress on a large product or multiple products.
• Participate in all team activities and ceremonies.
• Use a matrixed influencing approach to work with essential business partners throughout the organization, often at a more senior level and irrespective of hierarchy or divisions, advocating for the benefit of the customer.
• Understand and engage with your customers.
• Focus on outcomes over outputs, incorporating design thinking methods and analytics to inform product design.  Due to the scope of these product(s), these efforts are often more complex.
• Collaborate across teams and with other Product Owners to align the customer journey and dependent backlogs.
• May act on behalf of the Senior Product Owner as required by absence.
• Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
• Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable
• Complete other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years’ business, analytical, technical and/or product experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 10 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 6 years’ business, analytical, technical and/or product experience

Education and Experience Preferred:

• Prior experience prioritizing across competing priorities and quickly-changing landscape
• Prior experience actively seeking out multiple opinions, yet making independent decisions and influencing positive outcomes
• Understanding of Design Thinking principles
• Knowledge of product design and development best practices
• Knowledge of Agile and Lean principles and practices
• Experience working in partnership with user experience teams on product design
• Experience developing/managing digital capabilities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Subject matter expertise in Jira, Confluence, and Ariba
