An opportunity has arisen in the ICT Data Communications team for a Data Communications Officer to support succession planning for a retirement in 2025. You will be part of a hardworking, busy team supporting all departments across the council. You will help to provide a high-quality Data Communications service within ICT Operations, ensuring all requests, incidents, and projects, are captured, and progressed swiftly to deliver robust, reliable, and cost-effective ICT, which meets customer requirements and agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
Your work will be varied but the essential skills and experience required for the role includes but is not limited to:
Experience of providing 2nd / 3rd line ICT Data Communication support utilising service management tools.
Providing high-quality, customer focused support services.
Skilled in the design and support of enterprise level wired, wireless and voice networks.
Knowledge of systems and software including Aruba, Extreme, Microsoft Office 365 and Teams.
Understanding of key Data Communication concepts and technologies such as the OSI model and OSPF.
Practical hands-on experience and knowledge of wired, wireless and voice systems hardware and software, a systematic, logical approach to problem solving to provide high quality, customer focused Data Communications services are essential.
This is a challenging but highly rewarding role that would suit a highly motivated, committed, and versatile individual who will become fully integrated into the team. You will be experienced in working on multiple projects whilst helping to fulfil customer requests and resolve incidents.
As a disciplined and analytical problem solver, you will demonstrate a proactive approach, the ability to prioritise your workload, take ownership as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
