Job Description
A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen to play a key role in the growth and diversification of the economy of North East Scotland within the Invest Aberdeen team. We are looking for an experienced and motivated marketing and communications officer to lead on all aspects of the marketing, communications and engagement strategy showcasing investment opportunities and promoting investment support across the Aberdeen City Region.
With a number of high-profile investment opportunities coming forward across the region, the postholder will play a key role in delivering regional ambitions around attracting and retaining highly skilled jobs; energy transition; sector transformation and Investment Zone status. The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting the aims of Invest Aberdeen and the wider Aberdeen City Region economy, be a self-starter, adaptable and bring with them new ideas to investment promotion.
This is an integral role in a small team, working alongside colleagues in Aberdeenshire Council and Aberdeen City Council as well as working closely with regional and national partners and stakeholders in promoting the region to investors, stimulating interest and managing enquiries to successful conclusions.
A background in or knowledge of one or more of the region’s key sectors would be advantageous. Experience of working with senior political, civic and business leaders is also considered crucial.
The post is based in Aberdeen with scope for remote working. Occasional national and international travel to promote the region and its opportunities will be required.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the service and the organisation.
