Summary

The Planner schedules work in accordance with the program schedule.  Deciphers engineering drawings, engineering release notices and engineering orders to determine proper action such as requesting parts through material planning as needed and building parts in the shops.  Assures schedule adherence and program priorities by having both purchased parts and build parts arrive in time to meet the program schedule.  Provides project support to department managers, group leaders, and staff of Hardware Integration and Deployment. Maintains communication with program management, project technicians, production coordinators/planners, material planning, and support departments (such as Mechanical and Electrical Deployment) to monitor the status of product delivery.  Might assist other planners in resolving problems with late deliveries and recovery plans for projects.

• Enters data into various Hardware Deployment databases
• Evaluates due dates to ensure they align with schedule need dates
• Prepares the necessary documentation for items being shipped out of plant
• Orders necessary tools and parts needed by the hardware deployment group.
• Extracts various reports from Cognos, JIRA, Costpoint, and/or other reporting systems to evaluate priorities
• Keeps data integrity in Costpoint as it relates to MRP
• Maintains operational reports that successfully reflect and aid key project and operational goals.

• Coordinates with material planning and/or purchasing to acquire needed parts for projects
• Understanding of the bill of materials (BOM) along with a solid knowledge of part numbers and CAE USA Inc. part number philosophy.
• Interfaces continuously with other planners to determine changes to existing orders/plans on projects
• Familiarization with engineering change notices (ECN), work order system, log system, and other CAE specific software tools.
• Analyzes ECN’s on a daily basis
• Maintain inventory integrity of the storerooms using the database

• Sound knowledge and understanding of production control and manufacturing processes

• Two years’ certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsible for planning and coordinating various Manufacturing activities with Process Engineers, Supervisors, and Managers involving multiple site Manufacturing departments.

How You Will Achieve It

• Lead and manage batch/buffer preparation activities to support clinical/commercial Manufacturing involving multiple areas/products. 

• Utilize automated systems to plan and monitor production activities (LIMS, Delta V, MES, SAP). 

• Interface with management and team leads across Manufacturing departments and Technical Operations to optimize Manufacturing operations schedule based on upstream/downstream processing requirements, equipment, and staffing constraints.

• Re-prioritize and schedule production activities when unplanned disruptions occur in 24x7 operations. 

• Decisions must be timely and minimize disruptions to multiple clinical and commercial biologics production areas with limited/shared resources.

• In addition, responsible to lead/facilitate the weekly production planning meeting to ensure the day to day operational plan is communicated and successfully executed. 

• Proactively identify and escalate to senior management unplanned programs and projects that disrupt planned production activities in multiple vaccine programs.

• Coordinate the issuance, tracking, and review of batch records and other controlled documents to ensure target product-based cycle times are met.  Complete batch scaling calculations in master batch records and author cGMP documents as required to meet plan of record.  Strong understanding of cGMPs to assist in the review of Manufacturing records for completeness and accuracy.  Support programs and projects that require Manufacturing input/resources. 

• Prepare and place purchase orders for supplies and materials necessary for Manufacturing.  Resolve invoice, receiving problems, and expediting of orders.  Manage and optimize IMEx systems that impact consumables/disposables required for clinical and commercial Manufacturing operations. 

• Lead and manage projects and programs that impact production plan of record as assigned by management.  Upon assignment of the project/objective, develop an action plan/schedule, present updates, implement, and verify achievement of project objective.

• Train and develop new Manufacturing Planners in area of expertise. Demonstrate proficiency in other Manufacturing areas to backfill and support based on business needs.

The Production Lead Coordinator, Manufacturing is required to perform multiple functions within all work streams of the manufacturing plant, including the ability to perform all functions of the Production Operator, Manufacturing. The Production Operator, Manufacturing is required to perform many functions within the center, including, but not limited to, operating a wide variety of equipment, moving boxes and equipment, operating computers and computerized equipment, writing and filling out forms, sorting and collating papers, following instructions from supervisors, and communicating effectively with other team members in both Digital and Signs & Graphics environment. The Production Operator, Manufacturing predominantly takes part in the production of S&G print/finish orders according to customer specifications (order details). This team member also maintains the Digital production area and equipment.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process and produce Digital and Signs & Graphics print/finish orders as requested and/or directed
• Operate Digital and Signs & Graphics printers, binding and other auxiliary equipment

• Provide customer service, including problem solving, to satisfy those needs with a minimum amount of supervision

Responsibilities

• Implement and provide implementation support for new product introductions and existing product changes that impact Manufacturing, using the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process and other tools/processes.

• Provide manufacturing floor operations support to include:

• Improving and maintaining manufacturing process instructions

• Supporting or leading lean efforts to improve cell layout, replenishment, 5S, standard work, visual management, and quality at the source.

• Improving and maintaining Kanban’s and other replenishment processes to ensure components are always available and properly accounted for.

• Manage labor standards/rates as tools to drive efficiency improvement and ensure accurate financial absorption.

• Maintain manufacturing bills of materials (BOMs) so that replenishment processes correctly account for parts usage in Manufacturing.

• Design and implement fixtures and processes to support manufacturing operations.

• Lead or support manufacturing refurb process improvements.

• Lead or support manufactured product quality continuous improvement efforts.

• Perform other duties assigned to meet business needs.

• Strong understanding of computer assembly and software for both new and refurbished computers will be a plus.

• Qualifications: 2-5 years previous distribution/shipping experience, preferably in a production environment

We offer a full range of clinical trial services that cover every step, from discovery to delivery. Our portfolio of custom kitting, equipment and ancillary solutions, and biorepository and archiving services stands at the ready - to serve any trial, of any size, anywhere in the world. In this role you will: 

• Follow all assigned SOPs.

• Complete all daily orders including picking, packing and shipping of product.

• Ensure proper shipping label or labels are applied to the correct packages and FOB matches shipping preferences on the pick ticket; apply label(s) to packaging.

• Perform and sign-off on specific inspection criteria from the point of picking orders, pulling supplies, and printing supplies to avoid shipping errors.

• Determine shipping priorities (from the customer base perspective) ensuring orders are shipped on time.

• Maintain a working relationship with customer contacts.

• Discard trash within assigned work area on a routine basis to avoid waste build-up.

• Perform equipment maintenance per department schedule.

• May print and scan pick and pack slips.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Work overtime as needed.
