* Keep any sheds, outbuildings and areas in which waste is stored in a clean and tidy condition.

* Clear snow and grit the drive, paths and any areas to which Clients, Visitors or Staff Members have access.

* Ensure all external gardens, flower beds, & hanging baskets etc are maintained to a high standard.

* Clean all signs / lighting outside the Care Centre.


Carry out any patching up or touching up of decoration as and when required in order to maintain the standard of Care Centre.
Test the fire alarm system, and log results, weekly. Check call points, fire exits, door retaining devices and fire emergency lights, as specified in Company procedures.
Ensure all ventilation units and lights are kept clean. Replace any defective light bulbs / diffusers.
Test all portable appliances as specified in Company procedures.
Test, and record, water temperatures as specified in Company procedures.
Maintain a “Maintenance Book” in which defects are recorded by Staff Members. Use this book to effect repairs/replacements daily.
Assist/supervise with deliveries to the Care Centre. Monitor delivered goods closely.


Communication:


Liaise with Home Manager, or delegated Staff Member, regarding maintenance work to be carried out.
Participate in Staff and Client meetings as required.


Training & Development:


Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required.
Maintain professional knowledge and competence.


Health & Safety:


Ensure that paints and varnishes are used and stored only in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions.
Ensure areas in which any painting / varnishing work is being done is well ventilated and safe for Clients, Visitors and Staff Members.
Report immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Client, colleague, self or another.
Understand and ensure the implementation of the Care Centre’s Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures.
Promote safe working practice in the Care Centre.

The Estates Department is looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to work as part of a multidisciplinary management team.

The department provides management, development, maintenance and operational support for the Trust's buildings and engineering infrastructure.

The role is critical to the Estates Department's maintenance support service, and is demanding and varied as it covers a range of engineering services. The role offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the smooth functioning and maintenance of a range of engineering services in the Trust's clinical and non-clinical facilities of a very busy directorate, and to be part of a team that is constantly working to improve the quality and safety of the Trust's healthcare facilities.

The successful candidate will be based at York Hospital but must be willing to work at any of the Trust's sites when required, and therefore must be able to travel independently across the Trust sites.

You will be part of the Estates department on the York Hospital site working days Monday to Friday, but also covering when necessary across other Trust sites, hence you must be flexible regarding the hours of duty.

Main duties
• To undertake Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) of Electrical equipment.
• To test, maintain and service thermostatic devices.
To work as part of a maintenance team to carry out varying duties, to meet the needs and commitments of Facilities Management.
• To carry out general duties including cleaning within plant rooms and workshops, as would be associated with a busy department.
• To carry out various maintenance duties (fault finding/soldering/calibration of equipment), where knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems and interlinking is needed.
• To work in a variety of locations which may include; working at heights above ground level on properly constructed access equipment, or within confined spaces using breathing equipment, or any other situation that may arise for which the appropriate
training and equipment is provided.

Job overview:

To maintain plant and machinery in the highest order to ensure availability of plant to the production team at all times. • Support the project delivery team in the commissioning of the new machinery.

We are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join our highly successful Timber Frame client in Derby.

About the Client:

Our client are specialists in timber frame with a strong track record in housing and they are working along side prestigious, well known new build developers in the UK. They manufacture complete structural platform frames, roof and floor cassettes.

Pay and Benefits:

• Starting salary of £40,000 per annum
• Stable day shift Monday - Thursday 6:30 - 16:30 (This will change to 6-2/2-10 on a rotational basis)
• 3 weeks off for Christmas
• 25 days annual leave
• Full training provided

Job overview:

To maintain plant and machinery in the highest order to ensure availability of plant to the production team at all times. You must be able and willing to work flexibly to suit the needs and demands of the role. This may involve working different hours/days to accommodate shift working and potentially travel away from home if required to visit alternatives factory sites.

Responsibilities:

• Support the project delivery team in the commissioning of the new machinery.
• Develop robust maintenance plans in line with the manufacturer’s specification
• Conduct inspections of the plant equipment to identify and resolve issues
• Check electrical and mechanical systems of machinery to ensure functionality
• Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities
• Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary
• Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities
• Ensure health and safety policies are always complied with

Professional Qualifications:

• HND or equivalent in mechanical/electrical engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience

Essential

• Proven relevant experience as a maintenance engineer
• Solid understanding of technical aspects of mechanical and electrical systems
• Able to read schematics
• Good knowledge and understanding of H&S legislation and procedures
• Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Advanced trouble shooting skills
• Has a good Knowledge and understanding manufacturing machinery such as CNC machines and saws, with the ability to use skill and experience in problem solving to work things out and apply them to real situations
