As a Maintenance Person, you will make sure the premises and grounds are maintained to a high standard. Performing regular checks, carrying out repairs and, when needed, contact engineers or service agents. You will be confident in doing fire, basic electrical and appliance checks. As the home’s Maintenance Person, you’ll be a valuable member of their friendly, close-knit team, promoting the well-being of the residents and the successful running of the home.

Duties
As our Maintenance Officer / Technician you would be joining a fabulously friendly team. Your role will be to support the teams to ensure Health & Safety measures are in place throughout the grounds and facilities. You will always ensure our buildings are fit for purpose for the Young People we support. Duties include:

General Site Maintenance & repairs.
Carry out regular inspections of the school to ensure upkeep of standards.
Inspections, upkeep & maintenance of all areas including buildings and outside areas.
Comply with Health & Safety policies whilst carrying out your duties.
Keeping accurate records of all maintenance carried out.

JOB TITLE: Grounds Maintenance Operative

INDUSTRY: Building and Construction

START DATE: ASAP

SALARY BAND:£25,958 + overtime.

LOCATION:Blandford Forum

Grounds Maintenance Operative required to join a Property Maintenance team based in Blandford Forum.The starting salary is £25,958 + overtime.

40 hour week from October to April (8am to 4.30pm). Then a 45 hour week from May to September (8am to 5.30pm) the additional hours can be claimed as overtime on top of the basic salary.

Role & Responsibilities of a Grounds Maintenance Operative

• General grounds maintenance on estates, play areas and properties
• Grass cutting and strimming
• runing, weeding and spraying
• Hedge cutting
• Turfing and seeding
• Sweeping and clearing paths and hard standings

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience of carrying out general grounds maintenance
• Knowledge of health & safety best practices
• Enjoy working as part of a team
• A valid driving licence with a minimum of 1 years driving experience
• This role is subject to a satisfactory DVLA licence check and a basic DBS disclosure
