Role: Prison Security Escort

Location: HMP Downview

Standard Rate: £12.63 per hour + 33 days holiday pay

Overtime rate: £16.80ph (overtime after 37.5 hours)

Duration: Temporary role, with the opportunity to be long term

Typical hours: Monday to Friday: 08:00-17:00

As a Prison Security Escort, you will work alongside the prison service, assisting our client who is responsible for the maintenance of the buildings. You will be a part of security team where you will escort and oversee contractors such as carpenters, plumbers and electricians, whilst they complete their maintenance work.

Duties of a Prison Security Escort Include (but not limited to)

• Checking the identification of the contractors
• Checking contractors have been briefed on security measures
• Escorting contractors through the prison to their place of work
• Overseeing contractors whilst they are working (Please note you will have to stay with the contractors at all times)
• Checking contractor tools are all accounted for prior to leaving work area
• Using the radio to request permission to move contractors within the prison

About You:

• You will have good communication skills
• Have excellent attention to detail
• Be safety conscious
• Have been living in the UK for the past 3+ years
• Be able to pass security vetting (includes providing references, passing security police checks & providing photo identification)

As a Security Officer for Logistics Security your role will consist of various duties including but not limited to:

• Conduct regular and randomised searches on any staff or visitors within the site.
• Conduct regular internal and external patrols of the site.
• Ensure that any goods vehicles (deliveries or collections) entering or leaving the site are logged accurately on the relevant PC System
• Maintain a close liaison with Site contacts, other colleagues, CCTV Controllers and the National Security Manager in relation to any incidents.
• To help support the reduction in accidents and H&S breaches and minimise the risks to employees and visitors.
• Monitor, operate and communicate using all forms of equipment (Phones, intercoms, radios, email)
• Assist in site evacuations by following the procedures outlined in the Fire Evacuation Plan
• Always maintain strict Data Protection (GDPR) standards, adhering to the policies and procedures put in place in relation to monitoring, recording, extracting, and sharing of information
• To carry out, where possible, reasonable instructions issued by the site management team.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience in the security industry (1 year)
• SIA Licence (SG/DS) required.
• UK Driving licence and access to own vehicle required.
• First aid certification preferred.
• Be flexible and able to work a mixture of shifts, some at short notice.
• Be physically fit and patrol effectively by foot.

To escort patients by chair, trolley, bed or accompanying on foot in keeping with the current regulations, and to assist in movement of patients as required. The post holder taking the lead for the Healthy Families Team will be responsible for the case management, assessment, triaging, planning and delivery of care for parents, children and young people using evidence based interventions. This will be delivered in line with the National andLocal guidelines and public health priorities. You will be responsible for the operational overview of the Healthy Families Team allocated to a defined geographical population. The team will be working proactively using a partnership approach to promote health and contribute to tackling health inequalities within the level ofcompetencies required for the post.
