An exciting opportunity has become available to join Allied Universal as a Security Supervisor, based at a newly acquired contract in Ipswich!

The role will be to help manage and secure a site, for a global client who provide insurance. As part of your role, you'll be front facing with the client, working in a fast-paced environment and be the first point of contact for any team member when there is an incident on site!

The successful candidate will have previous Security Supervisor experience and already holds a valid SIA license.

The shift pattern will be to work a 7 on 3 off, 7 on 4 off. Meaning we require flexibility Monday to Sunday, on a day and night rotation.

The rate of pay is £14.23 per hour.

Your Time at Work

To help support the security team on site, covering holiday and sickness planning.

To liaise with the client, site manager and operations management.

To be able to write in-depth reports on incidents and the day-to-day checks of the site.

To conduct comprehensive patrols of the building, both internally and externally, reporting any faults or safety concerns to Building Management or maintenance teams

Manage the loading bay traffic ensuring all vehicles are constantly supervised and ensure all administrative tasks are completed in regards to contractors permits to work.

Act as ambassador for the building and always maintain a welcoming approach and professional appearance.

Welcome all staff and guests into the building with a genuine greeting and respond to people with a smile or reassuring gesture.

Maintain excellent site knowledge of both the building and surrounding area in order to effectively answer any questions from building users.

To have excellent timekeeping and organisational skills.

Be aware of personal responsibilities regarding the site policies and procedures and relevant UK domestic legislation directives and comply with them.

Be observant and have a full understanding of building security SOPs and EOPs in order to ensure the security of the building and it's users

Observe Health and Safety and manual handling risk assessment practices in line with the sites Assignment Instructions and SOP's.

As our Public Right of Way Coordinator, you’ll ensure compliance with the relevant regulations. You’ll work to both manage and maintain clear communication with the public and stakeholders. This role is important with keeping the Sizewell C project on track while maintaining transparency and accessibility regarding PRoW changes.



The Role



You will focus on the proposed diversions of Public Rights of Way for the Sizewell C construction project. You’ll handle all the relevant aspects of temporary closures, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and the approval of clear, accurate signage at key locations.

A key part of your role is to monitor the Public Rights of Way status, providing regular updates to stakeholders and the general public. You will ensure the public information portal is kept up to date with any diversions, closures, or re-openings, so users always have access to the latest information.

You’ll also spend time working closely with legal and regulatory teams to ensure all Public Rights of Way activities comply with the Development Consent Order (DCO) requirements. This will involve preparing governance reports, submitting the necessary documentation and keeping all records organized for easy access and review. You will also attend the relevant Deed Of Obligation governance groups on behalf of Sizewell C.


Skills

Experience in Public Right of Way management or a similar role.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple diversion projects concurrently.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to provide clear updates and notifications.

Knowledge of DCO processes and Public Right of Way regulations.

Proficient in using digital tools to manage Public Right of Way status and updates on public information portals.

3. Support the Cyber Security Architects, research new security technologies, toolsets, and solutions for both OT and Enterprise on-prem and cloud infrastructures.

4. Work as an important partner with third party vendors to design and implement proof of concept (PoC) cyber security solutions and evaluate against strict requirements and criteria following UK Power Networks policies and the cyber security technology roadmap.

5. Evaluate existing cyber security solutions within the enterprise to ensure that they are fit for purpose and that the solutions have been designed and implemented to gain maximum benefit and capability.

6. Support the Cyber Security Teams at a technical level to install cyber security product technologies and systems, such as firewalls, end point protection, encryption, VPN, SIEM, PAM, VM etc.

7. Support the Cyber Security Teams to drive effective root cause analysis of cyber security related incidents to ensure prompt action is taken to prevent incident reoccurrence and strengthen relevant cyber security controls.

8. Provide technical guidance and assurance to the wider information systems teams concerning the implementation of cyber security controls within the specified design principles.

The Information Systems Department works across UK Power Networks, supporting us in the achievement of our vision to become the best performing DNO. The team achieve this through the provision of technology solutions and the optimisation of current solutions to improve how we operate. Continuous improvement, customer service and seamless delivery is at the heart of this ethos and are therefore strongly underpinned by effective cyber security.

You will work with five disciplines within the Cyber Security Team, Enterprise Architecture, Technical Teams, IT Service Providers, Project, Innovation, and partners to implement and improve the security infrastructure, systems, and services.

Qualifications:

1. Work experience: Experience in cyber security, preferably in a security engineering or a security architecture role. Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions for multiple platforms, and using various security technologies and performing security testing and analysis.

2. Cyber Security Knowledge: An understanding of the principles and standards of cyber security, such as encryption, authentication, authorization, network security, application security, cloud security, and threat intelligence.

3. Security Solutions Design: Ability to design and implement security solutions that meet the requirements and goals. Analyse the security requirements, identify the security gaps, and propose the best security architectures to address them. Evaluate the costs, benefits, and trade-offs of different security solutions and make recommendations based on the UK Power Networks Policies, Standards and Security Patterns.

4. Security Tools and Technologies: Proficient in using multiple security technologies, such as firewalls, end point protection, intrusion detection and prevention systems, vulnerability scanners, encryption software, VPNs, and SIEMs. Be able to configure, test, deploy, and troubleshoot these tools and technologies and integrate them with other systems. Monitor and analyse the security logs and alerts generated by these tools and technologies and take appropriate actions.

5. Cyber Security Frameworks: Working knowledge of Cyber Essentials, ISO27001:2022, CSA Cloud Controls Matrix, NCSC CAF and GDPR, is important to ensure that data is being managed in a compliant manner.

6. Programming and scripting: Proficient programming and scripting skills to automate security tasks, develop custom security scripts and tools, and perform security testing and analysis. Familiar with some of the common programming and scripting languages used in cyber security, such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, Java, C#, and SQL.

7. Certifications: Relevant certifications in cyber security, such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, SSCP, or CCSP. Further technical certifications in Microsoft Azure, Networking, Firewall, SIEM, PAM or VM Products are beneficial.

8. -Fully and satisfactorily complete all of the tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI's).

-Proactively refer to and review the published Assignment Instructions, thus familiarising oneself with any changes in order to suggest additional amendments that will improve or enhance the current level of service.

-To be compliant with Industry and Statutory Legislation (you are required to obtain a front-line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision), which must be worn at all times whilst carrying out your duties. The Customer also requires a CCTV PSS SIA Licence. There are also additional courses that are contractually required.

Training

-Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.

-To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development as directed by the Security Account Manager.

-Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.

-You are required to ensure you renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.

Security and Health & Safety

-Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.

-Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.

-Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.

-To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.

-Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.

-Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.

-To ensure check calls are being carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).

-To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.

Role: Prison Security Escort

Location: HMP Highpoint

Standard Rate: £11.44 per hour + 33 days holiday pay

Overtime rate: £15.22ph (overtime after 37.5 hours)

Duration: Temporary role

Typical hours: Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00

As a Prison Security Escort, you will work alongside the prison service, assisting our client who is responsible for the maintenance of the buildings. You will be a part of security team where you will escort and oversee contractors such as carpenters, plumbers and electricians, whilst they complete their maintenance work.

Duties of a Prison Security Escort Include (but not limited to)

• Checking the identification of the contractors
• Checking contractors have been briefed on security measures
• Booking in and out of the contractors
• Creating a tool list
• Escorting contractors through the prison to their place of work
• Overseeing contractors whilst they are working (Please note you will have to stay with the contractors at all times)
• Checking contractor tools are all accounted for prior to leaving work area
• Using the radio to request permission to move contractors within the prison

About You:

• You will have good communication skills
• Have excellent attention to detail
• Be safety conscious
• Have been living in the UK for the past 3+ years
• Be able to pass security vetting (includes providing references, passing security police checks & providing photo identification)
