As a Cyber Analyst you will be responsible for responding to security events and taking appropriate action to mitigate impacts to the associated IT Services and carry out post-incident forensic investigations, you will be accountable for the day-to-day operation of the Cyber Security Operations Centre whilst supporting high priority Cyber incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support for security event monitoring, management and response, investigating and mitigating operational security threats and incidents
- Provide expertise, guidance and direction on threat management, threat modelling, identify threat vectors and the development of use cases for security monitoring
- Identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities, creating contingency plans.
- Promote optimum efficiency and compliance
- Accountable for accurate recording, maintenance and distribution of relevant necessary data
- Accountable for identifying improved ways of working
- Deliver a quality and specialist experience, always acting responsibly and communicating clearly
Skills and Experience
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Familiarity with documentation and process alignment with relevant industry standards and best practices (e.g. ITIL, ISO27001, CIS).
- Experience of industry compliance and regulation requirements, security device management and SIEM operation. Experience of incident management and security controls including facilitating incident response activities (provided by a 3rd party supplier).
- Analytical, Problem solving and Interpersonal qualities
Desirable:
- Relevant Information Security Qualifications
- Prior Operationally Critical IT Support experience
