HMP Prescoed is a category D men's open prison for those that are nearing their sentence and ready to be rehabilitated back in society.
Your new role
Working as a Security Officer, you will be working alongside the operational security team. You will be responsible for escorting/assisting contractors as they carry out maintenance work around the prison, visitor checks, toolkit checks, main gate duties and vehicle searches. You will assist with the safety of visitors around the site and ensure no unauthorised items enter the site. This role will require Mon-Fri 8am-4.30/5pm. It is a temporary contract on an ongoing basis.
All rates are inclusive of holiday.
Standard: £13.68 p/h
What you'll need to succeed

You will not require previous experience as you will receive full on the job training. However, security experience is desirable. You will need to be a strong communicator, level-headed and security conscious. You will be able to work well in a team and have excellent interpersonal skills. You will be required to provide 2 satisfactory references and will be subject to full prison clearance.

What you'll get in return

This position will give you great insight into the everyday running of prison life and could lead to long-term permanent roles within the prison service, such as an OSG or Prison Officer.

What you will be doing:

* Deliver assurance services to the business, SS EIT, IM&T Sector and Group Functions, covering enterprise systems / services and cloud

* Identification of risk and appropriate mitigations, development & analysis of secure solutions (covering technical / physical / procedural / personnel controls) and assessment of compliance with internal and external standards and regulations

* Deliver documentation to demonstrate compliance to internal and external stakeholders

* Assessment and provision of control effectiveness in managing Cyber security risk

* Provide security architecture / technical input into the development of secure solutions

* Coaching and mentoring junior members of the team

Essential Skills:
