The Opportunity

We are looking for inspirational tutors to support children and young people with SEND. Many children with SEND have been disengaged with their learning. What is the role?

The Estate Operations Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of Estate Services for Housing, Neighbourhood and Building Services sites, and additional PCC sites managed under 'service level agreements'. Estate Services comprises of all cleaning and grounds maintenance tasks, estate-based functions, and investigations such as fly tips and routine checks. The management of this significant logistical operation makes this a challenging role, influenced by the large number of personnel and sites responsible for, fleet management, equipment to be used by the service as well as servicing and repairs of that equipment, and staff related matters - to meet the shared purpose of:

There are 5 area offices containing a combination of Green and Clean and Estate Wardens. Typical team sizes vary from:

• 2-3 Estate Operations Supervisors

In addition to the area offices there is one Manager responsible for the Housing Depot. The structure is as below:

The Service:

Portsmouth City Council Fostering Service is committed to high standards and a culture of restorative practice. We are continuing to increase foster carer numbers and the menu of support to carers year on year. Your New Role:

You will manage and support a caseload of foster carers to provide excellent care to ensure the best outcomes for children we care for, and supporting carers to apply a trauma-informed approach in their care of children. You will have a critical role in supporting the carer to develop good relationships with children and their families, providing stable nurturing family homes for as long as the children need to be with them. You will be part of a team around the child developing good working relationships with a range of professionals involved with children and their families. You will be involved with a range of care types within the fostering service, including the Mockingbird Model of Care.

What you'll need to succeed:

You are a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England, with suitable post-qualifying experience in children and families work, including experience of working with children we care for and/or foster carers. You understand models of therapeutic parenting that enable you to support carers to meet the needs of traumatised children and promote placement stability and are motivated to achieve excellent outcomes for children. You understand legislation and care standards relating to children, fostering and safeguarding. You have strong communication, presentation and written skills, and are solution focused. You enjoy a busy atmosphere, and are a resilient, supportive and flexible team member.

Children's Social Care provides social work interventions to children in need (including children with disabilities and those subject to protection plans) and children looked after and care experienced young people. Your New Role:

You will have responsibility for Children We Care For in Portsmouth, and deliver on our 'Going Home & Strengthening Families' approach. You will lead a service of team leaders, social workers, and other staff, and ensure the efficient running of the service. You will ensure all statutory requirements are met and delivered to a high standard, and lead quality assurance activity including service audits and regulatory inspections. You will ensure all team requirements are met regarding workforce development, performance management, supervision and appraisal, compliance with statutory guidance and local policies and procedures, quality improvements, and budget management. You will work creatively and autonomously, and promote a restorative, strengths-based approach to work.
