An opportunity has arisen for a Financial Information Officer to join a dynamic and motivated Accountancy team on a permanent basis, helping Staffordshire to face the issues currently challenging local government in the area of special educational needs.

The post is hybrid working (working from home and typically we come into the office at Staffordshire Place 1, Stafford 1-2 days a week).

Our Accountancy Division provides a range of services with the aim of providing strategic financial advice, securing the stewardship of assets, supporting effective decision making and enabling good financial management.

The post sits in part of a friendly and approachable team within the Decision Making Support Unit.

Main Responsibilities

The main responsibilities for this role will be:

• Recording of financial information relating to pupils with special educational need.
• Recording and processing payments to educational providers.
• Raising debtor invoices.
• Assisting in maintaining financial system processes, coding hierarchies and control arrangements to provide accurate budget records.
• Processing accruals, prepayments, journals, and budget adjustments.
• Dealing with queries from schools and providers about funding for pupils.
• Monitoring the integrity of budget records to ensure accurate reporting of spending.

The Ideal Candidate

Ideally, you should be AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualified however we are happy to consider your application if you have don't have this qualification but have experience working in a financial environment.

We are also looking for you to,

• be practiced in the production of accurate financial information and will have a good understanding of business processes and controls.
• have good numeric and literacy skills, be effective in the use of spreadsheet and other office applications and capable of retrieving and manipulating information for the production of reports.
• have the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues across disciplines
• work flexibly and creatively to meet changing priorities.

An opportunity has arisen within the Business Intelligence Team for a Senior Information Analyst supporting Whipps Cross Hospital.
To succeed in this exciting role you will need; a real eye for detail, an analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, a willingness and ability to liaise with our stakeholders along with an enthusiasm to get the job done to the highest standards. You will have experience in carrying out analysis and report writing, and also a proven track record of using SQL for data extraction and interrogation purposes.

Experience of working with NHS data is highly desirable but exceptional candidates without previous NHS experience will be considered. The post-holder will be expected to contribute to the development of a performance-focused culture where safety, effectiveness and patient experience are consistently delivered through the provision of high-quality information, analytical interpretation, benchmarking and intelligent modelling.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Access to Personal Information Officer’s to join our Access to Children's Information team on a two year Fixed Term Contract.

The team is responsible for ensuring that the requirements of the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA) and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) are met, along with our statutory obligations in sharing information.

You will join a welcoming and supportive team who are passionate about the work we do and are proud of our commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals in accessing their information.

Main Responsibilities

You will:

• Conduct and coordinate the delivery of data subject rights, including rights of access, rectification and erasure regarding children’s social care records.
• Work through a significant volume of confidential documents, using IT software to redact, whilst maintaining attention to detail.
• Deal with requests from the public in a timely and consistent way with professionalism and empathy
• Provide necessary support to the requestor receiving their information, offering guidance throughout the process and the post release of files.
• Respond to requests for information from external agencies, including court orders, local authorities and other statutory or private organisations.
• Create summaries and chronologies from records in response to statutory checks.

The Ideal Candidate

What you'll bring:

• Detailed knowledge of Data Subject Rights in accordance with the DPA and GDPR.
• Experience in understanding the needs of vulnerable children/adults and the impact social care involvement may have had on them.
• Knowledge about safeguarding, including the ability to identity potential risks in releasing sensitive data.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proven computer skills including Microsoft Office packages.

• in the management, commissioning and delivery of highway information services including systems and processes.

• and understanding of spatial information systems, SQL, and Microsoft 365 products

The Planning Team at Staffordshire County Council plays a crucial role in managing planning applications for new developments, including quarries, waste sites, and County Council projects (such as schools and roads). Main Responsibilities

As a key member of our team, you’ll provide essential administrative and technical support to our Development Control and Planning Policy officers. Your tasks will include:

• Using Microsoft 365 based applications (including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, One Drive and SharePoint), and our planning software system ‘APAS’.
• Checking applications and recording and managing the fees, details, documents and plans using SharePoint and APAS.

The Ideal Candidate

To excel in this role, you’ll need:

• Very good organisational skills as well as experience of learning new ways of working and new IT systems
• Good communication skills because you’ll interact with people in the team, across the organisation and externally by phone, Microsoft Teams, in person and email, and some of them may not understand the planning process
• Confidence, energy, an appreciation of the importance of attention to detail, and that you are analytical with bias for action.
• A flexible approach to work as sometimes priorities can change at short notice e.g. when we need to get a decision out on time.
• Self-motivated and conscientious as you may be expected to work alone to get your job done.

We offer a flexible blend of office and remote work. Most team members split their time approximately 50:50, allowing for an optimal work-life balance.
