The Platform Architect is accountable for engaging with IT leaders, Programmes and Product teams, Enterprise Domain Architects and Solution Architects to jointly develop and agree strategies and roadmaps that align architecture with Thames Water’s business strategy/turnaround plan.
This role will work closely with the Product and Programme teams to own and govern the technology designs needed to deliver changes across multiple technology areas.
What you’ll be doing as a SAP Technology Lead
- Managing the strategy for a technology domain and assist delivery teams with the implementation of that strategy
- Own and produce strategies for the technology domains and work closely with the other Architects to ensure the strategies align
- Keeping current on Technology related areas by close engagement with Vendors and industry forums/events
- Own and agree the technical designs for Programmes and Product teams, provide specialist knowledge in creating the design, reaching out to vendors to supplement your knowledge if required
- Communicate the strategies to key stakeholders, Programme/Product teams and other interested parties
- Work with engineering teams to ensure that they conform to our harmonised governance processes, including the provision of architecture models where necessary

Working Pattern – 36 hours a week (Flexible working hours)
What you should bring to the role
Essential
- Strong experience in Technical or Enterprise Architecture with a focus on Technology
- Experience of SAP Integration software
- The ability to consult on a broad range of technologies, platforms, and vendor offerings to drive targeted business outcomes
- Specific experience of SAP Business Technology Platform
Desirable
- Relevant SAP certification
- Understanding and use of an architecture framework
- Extensive experience in at least 2 technology domains, including ownership of associated technology roadmaps
- Experience of SAP Cloud Platform Integration or SAP Integration Suite
