An opportunity has arisen for an excellent, experienced and ambitious leader to join our Extended Leadership Team as a Principal Teacher of Business and Technologies.
This is a permanent post.
The Faculty Leader will support the strategic direction in whole school leadership and management, with a specific responsibility to support and contribute to whole school improvement.
Our Faculty of Business & Technologies currently comprises Business Management, Computing Science and Design and Technology and we look forward to receiving applications from appropriately qualified professionals in any of these three subject specialisms.
As the Principal Teacher of Business and Technologies, you will have responsibility for the development and delivery of high quality learning experiences throughout your faculty.
You will ensure that all learning is planned to meet the needs of all young people and, in addition to overseeing the development and delivery of a wide range of exciting courses, you will also be expected to lead on the planning and development of aspects of whole school improvement.
You will have experience of leading self-evaluation and will have a clear vision for your faculty.
You will have the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with our full school community and will be truly committed to working in partnership with parents and carers.
About the School
The Community School of Auchterarder is an all-through school, comprising Nursery, Primary and Secondary departments serving the community of Auchterarder and surrounding district.
We have a roll of approximately 1,100 children and young people across all three sectors.
The school is situated in a rural location, approximately 14 miles south of Perth with good road networks to the rest of Perthshire, Glasgow, Edinburgh and the central belt. Our Associated Primary Schools are Aberuthven, Blackford and Dunning.

In addition to being an excellent teacher, the successful candidate will be highly motivated and have strong desire to enhance learning and teaching throughout our school through the use of digital technologies.
In planning and embedding a strategic approach to the development of digital skills, the successful candidate will improve the quality of learning throughout our whole school whilst preparing learners for a world where technologies play an ever increasing and important role.
You will inspire, motivate and lead exciting learning and teaching within your faculty and will be committed to achieving the highest standards.
You will demonstrate sound judgement and decision making and have the ability to prioritise and delegate effectively.
You will be passionate in everything you do and, as a lifelong learner, you will be fully committed to your own professional development.
You must have GTCS Registration in a relevant subject.
