Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Location: Commutable from Bristol (Hybrid 2 days a week)

Rate: £1000 - £1200 pd Inside IR35

What to expect

Experis are working with a defence client who are part of the MoD and specialise in SaaS data products and live services delivered within both the defence and commercial sector across the UK and the rest of the world.

Reporting into the CEO you'll be responsible for the transformation programme from a digital perspective in delivering the future strategy. You'll also head up DDaT profession leading the Technology Division (around 200 colleagues). This includes Cyber Security, Information Management, Software Development & Testing, Architecture, Delivery Management and Technology Operations.

The role will drive forward the development and implementation of the technology strategy, in the context of transformation. It's critical that the CTO is a technology and people leader.

What you'll need

You understand how to shape technology strategies that align resources, quality, and infrastructure to meet business goals.

• An outstanding people leader, able to inspire, engage and develop people and teams at all levels
• A natural collaborator, with well-honed stakeholder management and systems leadership management skills
• Experience and proven ability to work strategically and collaboratively to contribute to corporate development at a senior executive and, ideally, Board level.
• Experience of operating in a commercial environment with an understanding of the impact of environmental factors on the need for changing strategic direction, an understanding of the bigger picture.
• Demonstrable experience of successful innovation and delivery of technology systems and services.

Food Technology Teacher

You must have relevant experience working with 11 - 16 year olds within the last 2 years and we must be able to obtain relevant references for this time. You should have a professional manner and a flexible attitude to working and timetable changes. Most importantly, you should be enthusiastic, engaging and passionate about working with young people. Strong behaviour management and the ability to implement schools' behaviour polices is also essential. To be successful, you will be a Qualified Teacher (ECT's welcome to apply) and have recent experience of teaching Food Technology across Key Stage 3 and 4.

Job Description:

• Delivering engaging and creative Food Technology lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Supporting, advising, guiding and supervising students throughout the school day.
• Supporting Food Technology classes in the absence of the timetabled staff/teacher.
• Delivering the cover work established in the absence of the teacher.
• To have a primary focus on maintaining good order and ensuring students are on task so that learning can take place.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. ECT's welcome to apply.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching DT across KS3 and KS4. As this is a long-term role, you will have full teaching responsibilities, including planning and marking.

The Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO) will lead on ensuring UHL and UHN have a shared digital and data infrastructure providing a platform for transformation. Working together, digital will be recognised as a strategic enabler supporting our expectation that all patients receive the same standard of care we would want for our friends and family. Technology across all organisations should be relentlessly focused on the needs of users and facilitate improved outcomes for patients. The CDIO will develop a strategic plan for technology across UHL and UHN, focussing on the things we do well whilst bringing in industry leading technologies.



The CDIO will be a full member of both boards. They will support the CEO and will contribute beyond their portfolio to the success of the trusts. The CDIO will lead digital and data teams that are fully embedded in both organisations. This role will require the CDIO to align and prioritise the needs of disparate teams and stakeholders.

The CDIO will also be involved in the emerging work across the East Midlands Acute Providers Network.
