Lead our Information Governance Team
This role has a starting salary of £59,868 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week.
This is a 24-month fixed term contract/secondment opportunity. Are you an information governance professional and looking for a challenge? Adults Wellbeing and Health Partnerships is excited to offer a new role as Head of Adult's Information Governance. The team is based in Guildford but works in an agile way. This is an opportunity to support the directorate's transformation journey, to lead our team of specialists and play an important role in supporting our residents.

About the Team This position is based in the Adults Wellbeing and Health Partnerships directorate which is made up of adult social care, public health and communities. You will line manage a small team of skilled specialists. This is a new role created to provide the information governance technical expertise and capacity needed to support the directorate's transformation journey as we explore new ways of working and using data. The role will also support the growing demands upon our information governance team.
About the Role We are searching for an experienced information governance leader who is motivated by the opportunity to support our transformation journey and deliver a modern, professional and responsive information governance service. As Head of Adult's Information Governance, you will:
- Lead and develop the information governance service across the directorate.
- Ensure data protection requests are dealt with efficiently and within statutory timescales.
- Embrace the Council's use of new technology and lead on the compliance framework.
- Promote awareness and best practice in all aspects of information governance, developing and delivering training, communication and awareness for all staff.
- Ensure that policies and procedures for all aspects of information governance and retention of records are in place across the directorate.
- Champion appropriate Information Sharing protocols and ensure they are reviewed with a range of multi-agency partners.
- Produce performance data to inform decision making of the senior leadership team
Shortlisting Criteria To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:
- A degree or equivalent professional qualification.
- Extensive experience at a management level in information governance.
- Authoritative knowledge of information governance legislation and guidance.
- Experience in compliance associated with new technology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence.
- Strong collaboration with internal and external partners/professionals.
- Good IT skills and proficiency in using data to analyse and report.
- Advanced problem solving skills with the ability to find practical and creative solutions.
- Wide experience in leading, coaching, mentoring and developing staff.
