As a Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) at the GS-2210-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Develops, improves, and implements Cybersecurity, and Vulnerability Management program on
- classified and unclassified networks and systems.
- Ensures rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles,
- and practices in the delivery of information system and network services.
- Maintains vigilance against threats to network and data communications infrastructure ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
- Provides assessments of information systems across cybersecurity categories including risk, firewalls, security policies and procedures, threat and vulnerability, network and system scanning, virus, web security, compliance, security countermeasures, security system integration, and certification and accreditation processes.
- Ensures Activity-owned or -controlled information systems are assessed for cybersecurity
- vulnerabilities on a regular basis, and that appropriate cybersecurity solutions to eliminate or
- otherwise mitigate identified vulnerabilities are recorded, directed, and implemented
- Manages the development of applicable system security plans and develops methods to monitor and measure risk, compliance, and assurance efforts to achieve authorization.
