This is an exciting opportunity to join the Legal and Democratic Services team and work at the heart of the Council as our Senior Information Governance Officer. We are looking for someone with excellent knowledge and experience to manage and lead our modest yet valuable Information Governance Team across the breadth and depth of all Information Governance topics. The role is hybrid with the requirement being a minimum one day a week in the office.
Day to Day
You will be responsible for ensuring day to day compliance with legislative requirements and providing specialist guidance and advice to service areas on a variety of matters including Data Protection Impact Assessments and data sharing agreements. You will also manage subject access requests, be involved in policy and process formation, and deliver training and awareness of Information Governance topics across the Council.
About you
You must have demonstrable knowledge and experience of Information Governance and Data Protection, the legislative requirements and how to apply them. You must have excellent communication skills and be very organised. This is a line management role, and we would welcome applicants looking to step into a management position as well as those with experience of management.
Hours of work are 37 per week, Monday to Friday.
