We have a great opportunity for a Cluster Human Resources Officer to join us in the Midlands area at Leonardo Hotels. As a member of the HR team, you would provide quality HR support, coaching and guidance for your cluster and assist the Cluster HR Manager with the delivery of the HR strategy.

In this position you would be working within the HR department, which covers our Derby, Hinckley, Nottingham and East Midlands Airport properties. You’ll be primarily based in Derby, with occasional travel to other hotels in your cluster, where necessary. Presence is important in our hotels and offices; we promote an open-door policy within all HR departments!

This is an HR generalist role, so you’ll be involved in many different activities within the department! Here are some of the role’s key responsibilities:

• Recruitment and Selection: support the end-to-end recruitment process including shortlisting, arranging interviews, onboarding activities and reference checks
• Compliance: maintain personnel files as appropriate, ensure risk assessments are carried out and comply with company policies, procedures and initiatives
• Learning and Development: support the delivery of new starter induction, and use the Learning Management System to carry out reporting and ensure all admin is completed, such as keying promotions, removing leavers and maintaining training attendance records
• Payroll: resolve any payroll queries, ensure all working time is recorded and advise line managers on any changes to payroll processes
• Employee Relations: support/coach line managers with welfare meetings, investigations and any other formal meetings, support with maternity process
• Engagement: produce monthly calendar of events for the hotels and support the development and delivery of the HR strategy for each of the hotels within the cluster
• Deputise for the Cluster Human Resources Manager where appropriate

An excellent Cluster HR Officer will have:

• Previous experience in an HR Administrator/Officer position
• CIPD qualification, or working towards one with up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation
• Self-motivated and organised with the ability to work well as part of a team- you must be a great team player!
• An understanding of good HR practice and application
• Ability to act on own initiative and effectively prioritise own work
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Awareness of the importance of confidentiality in HR

As our hotel is expanding, we are looking for an HR officer to hire new staff and oversee all staff-related procedures and craft HR strategies in alignment with our business needs.

Hotel HR officer responsibilities include recruiting and training new hires, managing employee data and taking strategies to retain our Human Resources . To be successful in this role, you should have a versatile knowledge of labor legislation and experience hiring employees for various roles and seniority levels. Working experiences in a multi-international company especially in hospitality or customer services is preferable.

Ultimately, you will help us run a healthy and consistent hotel business where our employees are cooperative, initiative and productive.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with hotel manager and marketing departments for the sake of company’s long term prospects
• Design hiring plans for all hotel departments based on seasonal and development needs
• Interview and assess job candidates
• Manage compensation and benefits plans
• Oversee employee attendance and working schedules, including paid time off, overtime, breaks and annual leaves
• Onboard new hires
• Report on employee turnover rates
• Organize employee records, like contracts, paying special attention to work permits and visas
• Coordinate accommodation, catering and transport for our staff when necessary
• Schedule trainings for all hotel employees (for example, cultural backgrounds and international language training , customer service communication skills etc )
• Act as the point of contact when employees have queries or job-related issues
• Ensure hotel staff complies with relevant health and safety regulations

Requirements and skills
• Work experience as an HR officer, preferably in the hospitality or customer services industry
• Hands-on experience with HRIS and payroll software
• Experience in conducting interviews and evaluating the best candidates
• Understanding of labor legislation with an emphasis on part-time and overtime regulations
• Excellent communication skills with an international open mind
• Fluency in both English and Mandarin is a plus
• A strong sense of responsibility, team spirit and dedication
