About the role:

Working for a leading manufacturing business in Leicester as the Health & Safety Manager you’ll work in partnership with the Operations, Central and Development teams leading on H&S Safety strategy and all associated policies and procedures. This is a key role for someone who can balance operational safety with strategic planning, ensuring a culture of safety and compliance at all levels. You will be based at their head office location situated close to the centre of Leicester.


Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures
• Responsible for accident investigations and take precaution to prevent reoccurrence.
• Manage and coordinate Employee wellbeing, working alongside the HR Team.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits and site inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors on all health and safety matters.
• Collaborate with management to promote a strong health and safety culture throughout the organization.
• Security checks across both buildings and checking in with staff members on the shop floor, including morning walk abounds across both sites
• Set direction for effective health and safety management and appropriate workplace wellbeing programmes for staff
• Review and develop all aspects of health, safety and wellbeing policies and activity, and ensure that it is implemented consistently across the organisation
• Monitor, evaluate and review existing, new and upcoming health and safety legislation and ensure has systems and procedures in place to meet legal compliance and other requirements.
• Work proactively with the Operations Team and other key staff to establish and maintain a programme of continuous improvement in the management of health, safety and wellbeing within their areas of responsibility.


What We’re Looking For:

• NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent certification is essential
• A good understanding of occupational health, COSSH, WEEE Regs & DSEAR
• 2 to 5 years of working in a Health & Safety position
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Leadership ability, attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and solving safety challenges.
• A confident and friendly manner with the ability to liaise with people at all levels
• Personable and empathetic nature.
• Ability to handle and safeguard sensitive and confidential information.
• Working knowledge of MS Office packages
