About the role
This 4-year Engineering Apprenticeship Programme will see you based at our Bridgwater Müller Milk & Ingredients site. You’ll be provided with a fantastic way to realise your potential and get your career off to the best possible start. You will study towards a recognised qualification, earn a good salary, develop new skills, and gain invaluable experience. Your key responsibilities as an Engineering Apprentice will include:

- Asset Management: keeping Manufacturing machinery maintained, managing processes, filling/packing, and site cleaning operations
- Involvement in Continuous Improvement projects, project management, or tests and trial activities
- Fault finding and quick action to meet food safety standards
- Being part of a team striving to achieve the highest quality products
- Highlighting concerns and ensuring products or volumes meet the agreed requirements and targets

This Apprenticeship combines technical training, academic study, and work-based learning, and covers all the fundamental Engineering topics you need to know, such as:

- Electrical principles and maintenance
- Mechanical maintenance to keep the factories running efficiently
- Automation

This programme is delivered in partnership with our training provider, Bridgwater & Taunton College (BTC), where you’ll spend 40 weeks of your first year with Müller at their state-of-the-art training facility. From years 2 – 4, you’ll spend a combined 36 weeks with BTC, with the remainder of the time spent back at Bridgwater site to embed your learning with our team of Engineering experts, whilst continuing to work with our training provider partner to complete your apprenticeship.

Multi Skilled Engineering Technician

We are looking to recruit a Multi Skilled Engineering Technician to join our Bridgwater Dairy within our Muller Milk & Ingredients business. As a Multi Skilled Engineering Technician you’ll provide, safe front line reactive maintenance. Actively identify root cause and bring the equipment back in to service as quickly as possible as well as actively seeking and identifying cost effective improvements to site assets and equipment, improving efficiency and reliability.
Key responsibilities as Multi-Skilled Engineer:

- To ensure effective handover of information across shift
- Uses PMS to support prioritisation and problem solving (RCFA)
- To diagnose faults and to test , repair and maintain Mechanical / Electrical equipment
- To observe, recognise and report on machinery or component defects or symptoms of impending failure and provide CMMS data
- Contact OEM's and other suppliers for technical support as and when required and expedite parts when not available on site
- Lead shift based problem solving where corrective actions aren't clear
- Working as ONE TEAM with First Line Response Technician
- Coaching of operators with asset care tasks
- Identify & implement Improvements
- Identify life cycle issues and raise these with possible recommendations
- Use and support simple 5WHY OE techniques / RCA techniques through to 100 year fix

The Opportunity…

At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

We are looking for a HVAC Engineering Lead, to join the HVAC End-to-End (E2E) Engineering team, which is accountable for all activities associated with HVAC design of HPC, from basic design though to handover to commissioning.

The role of E2E engineering team is to:


- Chase the relevant stakeholders/owners to progress the actions,
- Identify and assess Risks, Critical Issues and Hot Spots that may impact the MEH Programme delivery,
- Push project risked based decisions to mitigate Open Points,

- Ensure all technical interfaces during the design sequence are adequately defined and managed. Supporting the process of resolution of decoupling and final value data.
- A further key role also includes ensuring delivery of the review and acceptance of engineering documents by the various parties under the surveillance of EDF Nuclear Services.
- Technical input to Change Management process.
- Writing/Reviewing documentation issued by Engineering team.
- Providing support to HVAC Engineering Manager as required.
- Providing proactive and reactive technical experience to enable site manufacturing and construction activities to be executed without blocker to delivery.
- The role will require frequent interaction with the Responsible Designer, Execution Designers, Manufacturers, EDF Nuclear Services, MEH Construction and Joint Design Office on site.
