Role: Project Engineering Manager

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineering Manager to join our client, a market leader in the water industry. This role will be based out of Manchester, overseeing engineering activities within the Severn Trent and United Utilities frameworks.
As a Project Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful planning, design, and execution of engineering projects, maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Providing leadership and strategic direction for all engineering activities within the Severn Trent and United Utilities frameworks
- Ensuring exemplary safety and quality standards are upheld throughout all engineering phases
- Overseeing the implementation of the Business Management System (BMS) in engineering-related tasks from tender handover to final completion
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams at all levels
- Ensuring optimal staffing levels and effective resource allocation for engineering components
- Developing and endorsing comprehensive engineering project execution plans and methodologies
- Approving detailed engineering designs and method statements prior to project commencement
- Managing all commercial aspects of engineering activities, including budget control, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Coordinating with Project Managers and other senior staff to ensure project milestones related to engineering are met
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in managing large-scale engineering projects, preferably within the water industry
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, or related discipline)
- Advanced Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent certification
- In-depth knowledge of Construction Contracts, particularly NEC and/or IChemE
- Strong understanding of CDM and construction Health & Safety regulations
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate large teams, manage resources effectively, and achieve strategic objectives
- Previous experience with water and wastewater treatment plants is highly advantageous
