Your new role
As an Engineering Maintenance Planner, you will be the principal contract and liaison between the maintenance department and operational planning. You will ensure the area, department, or facility you are assigned receives professional maintenance service in a timely manner, ensuring high equipment availability and performance. You will review planned work requests, determine their validity and accuracy, and engage with the appropriate resources to set priorities. You will ensure adherence to internal and external legislation and completion of all statutory maintenance tasks.
You will identify and source all parts and materials required to complete tasks, provide stores with requisitions for work orders, and any special kitting information. Accurately and consistently inputting data into the CMMS (SAP), you will be a competent SAP user and provide up-to-date yearly resource plans and bottom-up budgets. You will advise managers and supervisors on workload, labour requirements, spares availability, and the ability to meet work deadlines.What you'll need to succeed

• Strong technical ability (electrical or mechanical), ideally gained within a heavy engineering environment.
• Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in either electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Strong team working skills and the ability to influence.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence in presenting relevant information to all levels of the business.
• The ability to create and deliver efficient and effective engineering plans.
• Knowledge of planning tools and techniques.
• Strong knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, such as PUWER, LOLER, EaWR, PSSR, Asbestos Management, and BS7121.

Due to a current site and team expansion in our clients business, they now have an excellent opportunity for a Team Leader / Supervisor to step into a Deputy Engineering Manager position to join their team in the Liverpool Area.

Role

• Ensure that all staff operate safely and to high personal and professional standards.
  * Manage the Engineering Team (8 Engineers) to improve day to day operations within the department.
  * Attend the daily performance review representing the Engineering Department prioritising any actions from the review.
  * Manage KPI's and the success of maintenance.
  * Liaise with the stores controller and costs to maintain a healthy level of stock and engineering budget.
  * Conduct PDR's on an annual basis with all Engineers, on top of all regular mentoring and development.
  * Identify training requirements for the Engineering team, to develop engineering skills and knowledge.
  * Manage both internal and external personnel, ensure contractor knowledge of relevant standards and check adherance to such standards.
  * Assist in the delivery of all Projects and Continuous Improvements ensuring KPI's are defined and met.
  * Oversee planning and scheduling activities for projects and continuous improvements.
  * Oversee the delivery of smaller projects, including the development of larger projects.
  * Understand relevant legislation including but not limited to the CDM regulations.
  * Working hands on 60% of the time, completing multi-skilled maintenance and leading electrical breakdowns where required
  * Ensuring completions of Risk Assessments, Permits to Work, RAMS and further Engineering documentation.

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience using Elecosoft Shire PPM system is essential.
  * Experience in projects from design to commissioning.
  * Knowledge of engineering standards, legal, quality & SHE requirements
  * Experience in project financial management.
  * Educated to degree level in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering & hold a professional qualification.
  * Experience of management systems, ISO 9001 is desirable.
  * LEAN knowledge / qualification desirable.
  * Vast experience within manufacturing environments.

We are currently seeking a Process Technician (Chemical Engineering Student Placement), to work with our global FMCG client, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.

The position is based in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral easily accessible by train and car. This is a full-time temporary role to run for 12 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying up to £24,787.75 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.

This role is open to current Chemical Engineering undergraduate students on track for a least a 2:1, only.

The Sulphonation Industrial Placement Process Technician owns the performance data analytics, process parameters, plant optimisation and problem solving for the manufacturing process. They are responsible to identify and assist the top loss elimination in Cost, Waste, Energy, MTTF (Mean Time To Failure) reduction by forming specific improvement work streams. They are responsible for providing the right performance data for the make workflows and problem-solving sessions. They are responsible for building problem solving capability in operators.

Key Accountabilities

• Owns Process performance data analytics for the plant.
• Provides operational performance data for meetings.
• Supports the ops team with further analytics for workflows and problem-solving sessions.
• Contributes to the process heat map for loss stratification and top loss identification
• Continuously drives the development of the performance analytics tools
• Contributes to the centre lining settings process. This includes deployment, execution, reporting the KPI for meetings and continuous improvement of the process
• Works towards the development of the efficiency of the production process. This includes deployment, execution, reporting the KPI for meetings and continuous improvement of the process
• Contributes to the problem-solving process for the Sulphonation process.
• Provides subject matter support to the leader team and operators.
• Contributes to Project delivery of Safety, Quality or Process improvements when required. Including updating P&IDs, input into HazOp studies and documentation for Management of Change.
• Supports building problem solving capability in operators
• Collaborate with Sulphonation lead team and operators on projects
• Support the development and execution of distinct areas of the 90-day plan and weekly/monthly plans
• Supports and leads problem solving sessions

Key Requirements

• Must be a current Chemical Engineering undergraduate student, on track for a minimum of a 2:1.
• Able to visualize clearly what the ideal production system is
• Able to clearly understand operating principles and establish correct operating standards
• Able to present findings and rationales clearly so that whole factory team can understand
• Able to make logical decisions based on data
• Able to prioritise effectively between daily losses (sporadic) and long term losses (Chronic)
• Basic understanding of excel to present and visualise data

What will you be doing?

- Stock duties, including regular inventory
- Administration tasks related to role (defect reporting, raising orders, printing monthly PPM'S)
- General maintenance of buildings (changing light bulbs and fluorescent tubes, repair door handles...)
- Assist engineers in carrying out their duties (PPM or repairs) including skirting and roller replacement.
- Vibration analysis / thermal imaging

What are we looking for?

- Maths, English and Science - GCSE Level 4 (C) or above/ predicted.
- Drivers license is desirable
