GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides service support and preventive maintenance on general biomedical equipment (e.g., infusion pumps, ophthalmoscopes, vacuum regulators, SCDs, etc.) and general imaging modalities (e.g. general radiology rooms, ultrasound, processors, etc.) during normal working hours and on-call rotation as required.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responds to unscheduled service requests from users by performing initial problem verification,
• troubleshooting, and problem correction. (35%)
• Completes scheduled maintenance in accordance with PM Inspection and Protocol management plan. Initiates and completes documentation after repair or PM is completed. (45%)
• Assist in med equipment installation as required. (10%)
• Assists other technical positions in Clinical Engineering and other departments in the system as required. (5%)
• Attend manufacture service schools, in house training and self-directed study as required. (5%)
• Performs all other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• Graduate from an electronic technical school OR 3 years of relevant and progressive experience

Preferred

• Associate's Degree in biomedical or electronic engineering.
• 1-3 years’ hands on experience performing direct repair and maintenance on bio medical equipment.

Leidos is on the hunt for a Distribution Engineer who is passionate about electric utility design engineering. This position is remote in nature, but candidates must be located within a commutable distance of Allentown, PA in order to be considered, so we can provide support to our local utility customer as needed. The selected candidate will be expected to report to on-site meetings in the Allentown area on an ad-hoc basis.

As a Distribution Engineer, You can expect to:

• Perform design engineering for Leidos electric utility customers
• Develop work packages for OH, UG, URD, Make Ready, and Street Light projects, using customer GIS and WMS systems such as DDS, GDT, GE Smallworld, Bentley Expert Designer, and Maximo
• Manage scope, schedule, and budget of work assigned. 
• Perform functional tasks, planning, and/or customer follow-up
• Perform scope analysis of work assigned and maintain schedule adherence to advocate client priorities
• Initiate continuous improvement to workflow processes that drive efficiency and high-quality standards in client design deliverables
• Gain experience in coordinating conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements, assessing and developing large design packages for complex cable/conduit projects in dense urban environments, work permit development, easements, and ROW applications
• Be comfortable in both a field and office setting: the role may require local or regional customer-site visits to collect field data that will assist in developing work packages

What Sets You Apart (Background Requirements):

• Mid-level Engineer: A minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience is required
• Senior-Level Engineer: A minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience is required; Relevant experience is either working directly with an electric utility or an electric utility consulting company performing design engineering for electric distribution. 
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial) from an ABET accredited institution; additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree
• Experience and demonstrated proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)
• Some Prior experience with structural analysis, guying calcs, cable pulling calcs, coordination of protective devices, and electric demand and fault currents calculations.
• Ability to provide your own reliable transportation, as some local or regional customer-related travel is anticipated (Job-related travel will be reimbursed at IRS-approved rates). 
• Ability to demonstrate strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills

• Providing estimated costs, development of a BOM, calculating the CIAC. 
• Design tools such as Pole Foreman, SOCKET, Spida-Calc, DDS. 
• MicroStation -performing Electrical Distribution design.

• Partner with the MP&A and Finance business function leaders and product managers to establish technology strategy in line with the business vision to prioritize technology initiatives, budgets and operating plans

QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years experience in implementing Merchandise Planning and Allocation and Finance technology solutions (Allocation, Demand Forecast, ERP, MFP, Vendor Management, PO Management), providing a secure, cohesive, consistent experience across all customer touchpoints
• Experience with vendor platforms including O9, Blue Yonder, JDA, Oracle Retail, and Oracle ERP a plus
• Experience in building highly productive engineering teams responsible for delivery, uptime, stability and operations of all applications and systems in a high-growth, omni-channel retailer
• Expertise in formulating and implementing operating processes, procedures and routines, such as incident management, automated monitoring and alerting, capacity planning, build versus buy decision making
• Expertise in open-source software development languages & frameworks such as Python, Java, Spring, NO-SQL DB’s, Spark, Kafka, Databricks, and Cloud computing
• Experience in Governance, Risk and Compliance management, specifically around implementing automated controls, security monitoring, enabling audit trails, securing data and complying to company’s SOX and audit policies
• Expertise in building and deploying secure applications in a multi-cloud footprint (AWS, Azure, GCP or Oracle cloud)
• Expertise driving efficiencies across the application footprint through automation leveraging CI/CD and DevSecOps (shift-left) methodologies
