(1) Provides technical guidance and assistance to subordinate elements, the headquarters operations section, and other staff sections in planning, acquiring, preparing, conducting, and documenting individual and collective training. Assist the training officer in the development and review of training directives, operations orders, deployment planning and readiness reporting. Conducts command readiness inspections and other evaluations of subordinate training operations, security, safety, and deployment readiness planning. Make recommendations as appropriate to correct deficiencies. Conducts and/or coordinates assistance visits in the areas of training management. Review training schedules, circulars, and yearly training plans to ensure congruence with commander's priorities and higher headquarters guidance. Performs research necessary to create or modify the units' mission essential task lists in accordance with critical wartime mission requirements. Assist with the coordination and support of internal/external evaluation teams. Plans, coordinates, and provides guidance regarding deployment issues to include tentative plans for full or partial deployment. Reviews and provides guidance in the preparation of subordinate units' training assessment reports. Consolidates and prepares the organizational training assessment reports. May initiate, coordinate or maintain usage agreements for local/private training areas.

(2) Manages the command's school program. Forecasts the individual training requirements for the organization and coordinates with higher headquarters to obtain quotas for personnel to attend schools (Service, NCO, Special, etc.). Sub-allocates authorized training quotas to elements within the command based on the commander's guidance, preliminary forecasts, and modifications due to training requirements. Monitor the usage of organizational quotas and reallocates based on execution data. Reviews, approves, and forwards individual requests for training seats based on allocated quotas and availability of funds. Researches and resolves soldier prerequisite/eligibility problems.

(3) Is a technical specialist in readiness reporting for the organization. Perform analysis and refinement of organizational readiness data. Reviews subordinate training readiness feeder reports to ensure current and correct information is reported. Consolidates the training portion of the organizational readiness report and assists the training officer in the consolidation and submission of the overall readiness report. Provide training and assistance to commanders and unit personnel on reporting procedures and other matters pertaining to readiness.

(4) Plans, organizes, and administers the individual and NCO professional development training programs for the organization. Coordinate common task and skill-specific training programs. Provide assistance to training personnel within the command in scheduling training areas, obtaining training aids, requesting equipment, and other required materials. Procure, design, reproduce and distribute a variety of training aids, map overlays and transparencies necessary for the efficient operation and training of the organization. Receives, consolidates, and forwards reports to higher headquarters pertaining to individual soldier readiness (i.e. common task test, weapons qualification, army physical fitness test).

(5) Makes recommendations and assists in the preparation of yearly training budget requirements for submission to higher headquarters based on yearly training guidance and training calendar. Input requirements into the automated funds management requisition and authorization system. Monitors the use of funds sub-allocated to subordinate units for use in training events. Prepares, reviews, and forwards for approval automated requests for orders. Verifies accounting classification data and coordinates with other organizations and higher headquarters to support unfunded events.

(6) Provides guidance and assistance for implementing security measures for such items as documents, arms and ammunition, and communication/ automation equipment (communication security/computer security). Ensures security measures are followed. May serve as a security coordinator for the command. May be designated as custodian or alternate custodian of classified documents, communication security/computer security account custodian/alternate and/or physical security manager as required by regulations and local situations. Assist the training officer in the preparation of plans and procedures for anti-terrorism/force protection and military support to civil authorities.

Responsibilities:

• Review and approve GMP documentation (e.g. GMP forms, protocols, reports, cleaning records, batch records, work instructions) to ensure their compliance with PQS.
• Disposition intermediates and active pharmaceutical ingredients (API).

• Coordinate with cross-functional team to prepare Annual Product Record Reviews, discuss trends and atypical observations and recommend improvement actions.

Position Summary:

The incumbent is a member of the Quality Control (QC) Laboratory Systems team. Under the supervision of the QC Manager / Supervisor (Systems team), the key responsibilities are: 

·       Perform / review and document analytical testing and results accurately and in accordance to test methods, site SOPs and relevant protocols, adhering to ALCOA principles and Data Integrity (DI) requirements. 

·       Assist in troubleshooting laboratory technical problems and support laboratory investigations. 

·       Author SOPs, analytical method transfer protocols and reports and other GMP documentation (e.g. trend reports). 

·       Perform preventive maintenance or calibration of instrumentation as required, undertake housekeeping responsibilities and follow safety regulations.

·       Set up and maintain QC processes (e.g. reference standard and retention samples management)

·       Use Imex "way of working" for day to day operations, problem solving, escalation and continuous improvements.

Responsibilities:

·       Perform / review and document analytical testing and results accurately and in accordance to test methods, site SOPs and relevant protocols, adhering to ALCOA principles and Data Integrity (DI) requirements. 

·       Perform / review and document equipment verification and calibration in accordance to procedures.

·       Highlight any abnormalities detected during testing / review and raise laboratory investigations as required.

·       Support laboratory investigations and perform equipment troubleshooting where required. 

·       Participate in 5S team initiatives and practice good housekeeping, ensuring all safety procedures are followed.

·       Author SOPs, analytical method transfer protocols and reports and other GMP documentation (e.g. trend reports). 

·       Set up and maintain QC processes (e.g. reference standards and retention sample management), perform investigations as required for any associated deviations. 

·       Conduct training for fellow colleagues from QC and other departments (e.g. Production). 

·       Uphold Pfizer's code of conduct and values. 

·       Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive flawless execution.

·       Play an active and impactful role in Tier processes by updating performance against metrics, highlighting issues, with appropriate escalations. Support development and implementation of solutions. 

·       Contribute to the continuous improvement activities in QC laboratory or cross functional teams as nominated. ​

Your Scope:

Reporting to the Director of Technical Training, the position oversees and supports power- generation based training programs in the region.

What You'll Do:

The position of Regional Training Specialist works closely with assigned facilities operations and maintenance management personnel to own and lead the training and competency assurance through the provision of direct field-training and qualification support, as well as training program development/maintenance. This position provides a critically valued dynamic, one that helps to ensure Covanta’s success as it directly supports our core value of continuous improvement through continual employee growth and development.   

This position is also responsible for owning a competency management system for the assigned facilities operation and maintenance teams and keeping the facility managers and technical training director appraised of the facility training and the facility personnel competency development. It also includes managing the learning management system (LMS) and coordinating the state specific training programs (ASME certification and state licenses).   

Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Own, lead and perform technical training for Operation and Maintenance employees in facilities.
• Lead a competency management system at the assigned facilities and give regular reporting on qualification status, priority training and competency compliance.
• Evaluate technical competency for employees, identify areas needing improvement and accordingly develop an individual development plan with employees and their managers.
• Able to design and develop training materials to complement field training efforts and deliver training in groups or individually.
• Identify technical competency gaps and accordingly design and develop competency maps, training programs to close those gaps and assure competence. 
• Manage and deliver training for Apprenticeship programs, Entry-level training programs and other technical programs to ensure employees’ competency compliance as per the company procedures.   
• Maintaining and disseminating as required accurate employee training & qualification status matrices for assigned plants on SharePoint.
• Prepare for and participation in the regularly scheduled qualification status update calls with facility management, Training Director and associated regional management
• Develop effective working relationships with Facility Manager (FM)/ Operations Manager (OM) /Maintenance Manager (MM) / Shift Supervisor (SS) at assigned facilities.
• Formal scheduling of individual/group field and classroom qualification training.
• Checking/assisting with monthly upkeep of ASME-QRO certification data and status in the ASME/QRO Certification Status site in SharePoint.
• Collaborating with the safety team and other functions to ensure completion of Safety/OpEx/ LEAN deployed training.
• Determine overall effectiveness of programs and training by listening to feedback and making improvements as necessary.
• Attend individual weekly status update/communication calls.
• Other duties may be assigned by the Director of Technical Training.

Experience / Certification:

• Minimum of 5 years of technical training development and/or competency management.
• Technical Training delivery experience in the Waste-to- Energy, Power Generation, or Chemical Industries including both operations and maintenance disciplines. In lieu of technical training/development experience, a bachelor's degree in education, a supporting technical certification, Maritime academy degree, or suitable related military experience is required. 
• ASME/QRO Certification preferred or achieved within 12 months of hire date.

Skills:

• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to convey complex information to a variety of audiences, and to identify, develop, organize, set-up and conduct interactive classroom and field training sessions.
• Proficiency in learning/ training management and designing technical course content

Other Requirements: 

• Ability and willingness to travel 50-70% of the time across the region when needed.
• This position is facility-based, and works 8 hours minimum per day, typically 8:00 AM through 5:00 PM, although periodic boiler outages and/or facility upsets may necessitate flexibility in this area.
