The Duties:

• The purpose of the role is to be the first point of contact for internal and external customers for the reporting of repairs. The role will involve;

  • Answer phone calls from residents and clients in the housing and healthcare facilities

  • Providing updates on jobs

  • This role is predominantly telephone based and will involve the logging of jobs in the system.

Working in a contact centre environment for a maintenance contractor or housing association would be good to see.

An operational understanding of the application of service charges in the social housing sector is essential to the role.

Your key tasks will include:

• Setting service charge estimates for all existing stock annually, complying with tenancy agreements and leases and adhering to current legislation.
• Regular reconciliation of scheme accounts on finance accounting system identifying any discrepancies and provision of reports to relevant departments to investigate and resolve.
• Reconciling actual costs for all stock with a variable service charge and issue year end statement of accounts, complying with agreements, leases and current legislation. Assist Team Leader in liaising with external auditors, providing resolution of queries relating to the year-end accounts.
• Monitoring the financial performance of Managing agents by ensuring compliance with leases and agreements from estimates & final accounts. Work with the Managing Agent Officer to challenge Managing Agents if accounts are inaccurate and to issue legal notices in cases of non - compliance.
• Reviewing all schemes ensuring existing reserve/sinking funds are up to date and accurately recorded or implemented if necessary and, following the annual reconciliation; notify residents (via audited accounts) of balance of reserve/sinking funds.
• Taking ownership to investigate and respond to any service related complaints/ queries from customers within set timescales at all times. This is to be carried out with reference to tenancy agreements and leases and current legislation.
• Providing advice & support to the business to produce accurate service charge estimates for new schemes, including the calculation of charges for Capital Projects Committee, and collating and interpreting all legal documentation to ensure service charges are set in accordance with the same.
• Attending & representing Moat at first-tier tribunal hearings and resident meetings in collaboration with relevant internal departments.

You’ll have:

• A good standard of education, with good numerical ability in particular.
• A working knowledge of MS Office, with proficient intermediate use of MS Excel.
• Good understanding in the use of financial, and other, database systems.
• An operational understanding of all legislation and best practice as it relates to service charges.
• An operational understanding of the application of service charges in the social housing sector, including in the context of lease arrangements.

• Address ASB in partnership with agencies such as the Police and social care.
• Conduct welfare checks for vulnerable tenants and make safeguarding referrals as needed.
• Ensure compliance with statutory landlord duties, including gas and electrical safety checks.
• Provide support for succession, assignment, and amendments to tenancy agreements.
• Represent the Council in court for possession cases and enforcement actions.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a candidate who has:

• Experience in housing management, including rent arrears collection and estate management.
• A strong understanding of housing-related legislation, ASB management, and welfare benefits.
• Excellent communication skills to build effective relationships with tenants and stakeholders.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to changing circumstances.

Desirable Qualifications:

• HNC/HND or degree in a relevant field.
• CIH qualification or equivalent housing-related certification.

The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and determined individual to be responsible for the delivery of a professional and responsive IT support service to demanding service levels. You will be working as part of the IT Services team to provide IT support services that are delivered within operational levels across multiple sites.
Post-holders will be expected to undertake 2nd line problem solving as well as network administration tasks. You should have experience of working in an IT support role, ideally in a multi-user/site environment, along with previous experience of supporting users in an Active Directory and Hyper V environment. You should have knowledge of Windows 10 & 11, Office 365 suite, and other educational software and networking technologies. Additionally, experience of working with both a PC and Mac platform and using SCCM would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal. It is essential that you incorporate continuous improvement in your work and have a desire to meet or exceed service targets. Initiative, customer focus and the ability to prioritise under pressure will help ensure the team continue to provide a highly valued service to the college.
