Lecturer in Property Maintenance Operative
36 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
£32,732 - £39,096 per annum
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Apprenticeships Team working at Easton. We are looking for a course lead for our Property Maintenance Operative Course. We are looking for someone who has up to date industry skills. This is an ideal opportunity to instil best practise and have an influence on shaping the next generation entering the industry.
In this role, you will be delivering practical and theory sessions to groups of apprentices and engaging with employers to assess apprentices’ competence in the workplace, which is why you will need such a strong technical skillset as well as excellent interpersonal skills. We have high standards for our students in the tracking and recording of work and assessments so you will need to be well organised and efficient and a confident user of IT. Ideally, you will have teaching qualifications and appropriate industry qualifications.
However, we would love to hear from you if you have the appropriate industry skills, great communication skills (written and verbal) and the patience and passion to help others learn, develop and progress. We will support you to train as a teacher if you have no teaching qualifications but the right soft skills and technical trade background.
We would also be equally happy to hear from those of you who are existing lecturers and looking for a change of workplace or environment!
City College Norwich is a great place to work, and we've had positive feedback about how supportive and proactive the Apprenticeship Team is. As a College we are required to undertake various Safer Recruitment checks as set out within the guidance from the Department for Education Keeping Child Safe in Education. We require all staff to undertake an enhanced Adult and Child Workforce DBS Check and to register with the DBS Update Service. Please note: From 28 November 2020 the government implemented changes to the filtering rules, and we have been instructed that we cannot accept any update service checks on DBS certificates that have been issued before this date. Therefore, a new one must be completed with City College Norwich.
