Provide a thorough reception and administration service ensuring patients are admitted to the ED efficiently and accurately providing an exceptionally high standard of customer care.

Work closely with other members of the ED teams; this is varied role working within a busy and challenging environment. Due to the expansion of the service to encompass 7 day working, we have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Clerical Officer to join our administration team, here in the Endoscopy Department.

Reporting to the lead administrator, you will be part of a team responsible for booking various patient appointments, maintain and use hospital systems (IPM, dashboard, ICE, PENS), monitor waiting lists, database entry, liaise with health professionals, deal efficiently and professionally to the requests of all service users and patient enquiries and provide a functional flexibility to meet the demands of the service.

Other duties will include administratively supporting the specialist nurse team with pre-investigation and the E-referral service.

Due to the nature of the work you will be IT literate, able to use most Office software and work unsupervised. Previous experience in the health sector would be an advantage and excellent customer service, the ability to work as part of a team and work to tight deadlines is essential.

You will be expected to be flexible and support the department as and when the need arises. This could include cross-site cover at our Aintree endoscopy department (should the need dictate).

Lead responsibility for the booking of referrals for outpatient and day-case appointments. endoscopic procedures both diagnostic and advanced therapeutic as per guidelines.

Where appropriate ensure appointments are made with the anti-coagulant nurse and/or dietician

The role necessitates a rotation through the lead booking areas within the office including a two week rule service, management of the outpatient pre-invest system, and recording of ward attenders.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Administrative Clerk to join our administrative team within the Gastroenterology Department based at The Royal Liverpool Hospital.

'It is expected that all applicants will have previous experience of working in the NHS within a secretarial role and will possess extensive understanding and knowledge of medical terminology.

The successful candidate must be able to undertake all administrative duties including clinic management, be well organised, plan own workload and work on own initiative working to strict guidelines, both individually and as part of the wider team.

You will be expected to be a team player and cover for your colleagues during absences. Previous experience of general administrative duties is advantageous.

To provide a comprehensive service to the IBD nurses and consultants and with the minimum of supervision.

Organise your own workload and co-ordinate activities with other medical secretaries and administrative clerks to ensure that an efficient service is provided.

It is essential that you show initiative commensurate
with the role and it is vital that confidentiality should be maintained at all times.

Ensure cross cover working where possible.

Communicate with all disciplines of staff and patients throughout the Trust and other bodies both internally and externally.

Deal with all queries in a confidential and competent manner and general office duties.

See Job Description for further details. Maintain a high standard in all aspects of work To rotate to all areas of the Radiology department, including Main X-ray, CT/MR, Ultrasound, A+E X-ray. Nuclear Medicine To input and extract data onto the patient administration system (PAS) and the departmental RIS system (Computerised Radiology Information System, CRIS) and to search the patient database for existing records, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date. Reception duties for all areas of the Radiology department, including enquiries from medical staff, other hospitals, GPs and members of the public. Dealing with telephone and direct communication enquiries from the public and other health professions. Sending and retrieval of faxes on a daily basis. Co-operation with and provision of assistance where necessary to all medical, nursing and other hospital staff.
