Pay Rate: £15.00 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday 8.30am to 5pm
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 5-6 months

The purpose of the role is to provide administrative support to our Development Management team. The post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating the processing of a high caseload of predominantly householder planning applications in support of the work of planning officers.
Key Responsibilities:
Answering email and telephone enquiries about planning matters.
To provide application support including uploading reports including conditions and consulting neighbours, stakeholders and consultees.
To check reports and decisions are issued with all the appropriate corporate standard.
Point of contact for planning officers, consultees, agents and applicants.
Redacting and publishing documents, adhering to data protection and GDPR standards.
To ensure team filing, all application paperwork and electronic records are kept updated and well organised.
Ensuring deadlines are met and decisions are issued within the agreed timeframes.
To carry out any additional duties or functions, as may be requested by management.
Assist the efficient, effective and consistent downloading and inputting of digital and hard copy Planning/building control applications.
Uploading applications, documents and decisions onto our Planning/Building Control system.
Utilising software to redact documents for publishing (Microsoft/Adobe/In house redaction tool).
Quality check downloaded/scanned documents and save document file onto the Network Storage System.
Accurately file name and index scanned/downloaded documents.
Be prepared to undertake administrative / supportive duties to assist other members of the Planning/Building Control Team undertaking any necessary training to fulfil this requirement.
Maintain confidentiality in line with agreed policy and relevant data protection legislation

Qualifications:
A good level of education, includes GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths Grade C or above.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Excellent communication skills with a strong customer facing/service background.
Strong administrative and processing skills.
Good organisational skills with the ability to take the initiative and prioritise workloads.
High accuracy rates on data entry as what is entered can form legal documents.
A proactive and flexible approach to changing workloads and demands.
Ability to work as part of a team and under your own initiative
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
