Job Description
Service Care Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in Portsmouth for a dedicated Accounting Technician to join the team on a temporary basis. This pivotal role involves supporting senior accountants in delivering top-notch financial management, professional advice, and accountancy services. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the financial efficiency and effectiveness of vital public services.
Main responsibilities
- Assist Senior Accountants in delivering high-quality financial management and professional advice.
- Participate in budget oversight, forecasting, and driving the budget process.
- Prepare final accounts and statutory financial statements and provide various financial analyses as requested.
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations and codes of practice.
Candidate Requirements
- Must be a qualified Accounting Technician or hold a CCAB equivalent certification.
- Proven experience in preparing budgets and assisting in the preparation of monthly budget monitoring reports.
- Experience in preparing monthly accounts, financial monitoring, and final annual accounts.
- High standard of spreadsheet skills, proficiency in Word, Outlook, and experience with financial information systems like Oracle Fusion.
- Strong organisational abilities to prioritise work and meet key deadlines efficiently.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels, including senior officers.
