When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050. The Sizewell C Project requires a significant number of Public Right of Way (PRoW) diversions and new routes due to our ongoing construction activities. We are seeking a skilled Public Right of Way Coordinator to manage these diversions around our locality in Leiston and the surrounding areas.

As our Public Right of Way Coordinator, you’ll ensure compliance with the relevant regulations. You’ll work to both manage and maintain clear communication with the public and stakeholders. This role is important with keeping the Sizewell C project on track while maintaining transparency and accessibility regarding PRoW changes.



The Role



You will focus on the proposed diversions of Public Rights of Way for the Sizewell C construction project. You’ll handle all the relevant aspects of temporary closures, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and the approval of clear, accurate signage at key locations.

A key part of your role is to monitor the Public Rights of Way status, providing regular updates to stakeholders and the general public. You will ensure the public information portal is kept up to date with any diversions, closures, or re-openings, so users always have access to the latest information.

You’ll also spend time working closely with legal and regulatory teams to ensure all Public Rights of Way activities comply with the Development Consent Order (DCO) requirements. This will involve preparing governance reports, submitting the necessary documentation and keeping all records organized for easy access and review. You will also attend the relevant Deed Of Obligation governance groups on behalf of Sizewell C.


Skills

Experience in Public Right of Way management or a similar role.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple diversion projects concurrently.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to provide clear updates and notifications.

Knowledge of DCO processes and Public Right of Way regulations.

Proficient in using digital tools to manage Public Right of Way status and updates on public information portals.

About the role

We are seeking a qualified, motivated, legal officer with the ability to develop excellent relationships with partners and colleagues. Experience in handling a caseload including sales under Right to Buy legislation, enfranchisement and leases and licences is preferred but you will be supported and training will be provided to undertake these and other areas.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our amazing legal team. We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic applicants who are keen to develop their skills in a public sector environment. Prior experience in local government is desirable but more important is your determination to provide a first-class legal service. Our Legal Service provide high quality, clear legal advice on all aspects of local government work and has recently invested heavily in our Lexcel accredited Legal Service. Based in Bury town centre we offer flexible and agile working and a range of staff benefits. Our legal team is incredibly friendly and supportive, and you will be provided with training and development opportunities to develop and enhance your skills. The department’s re-structure allows for our legal officers to be well supported to ensure they can excel with opportunities available for career development. We very much work as a team with a focus on training, mentoring, and coaching to get the right results. We are supported by our Practice Manager to achieve better ways of working.

Hours of work are 37 per week worked in a flexible and agile way, you may be required to attend meetings outside normal working hours. You will have the ability to work in a flexible and agile manner as well working more office based if preferred.

Your extensive experience of business administration will put you in good stead for success in this role.
