An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic person to join as a Apprentice Hospitality Team Member. This is a full time (36.25 hours per week) and it will involve working some evenings and weekends.
Flixton House has been a popular wedding and events venue in Trafford for many years. The venue is owned and managed by Trafford Council. The venue offers the ability to host various events; weddings, parties and meetings and can accommodate up to 140 people.
“The Terrace” is a café and bar positioned within Trafford Town Hall. The café is open during weekdays providing food and drinks to the public and Colleagues in the Town Hall as well as Hospitality for meetings and events and opening the bar for large sporting events.
About the Role
Town Hall Responsibilities
When working at the Town Hall you will work within a small team serving customers with food and drink. This will include some basic food preparation and use of the till and coffee machine.
You will assist in completing the mandatory food safety and cleaning tasks both in the kitchen and in public facing areas.
During large sporting events you will work as part of the team working behind the bar and assisting with cellar management and stock control.
Flixton House Responsibilities
When working at Flixton House you will be a part of the team ensuring that events run smoothly. This includes set up of the venue prior to the start of the booking under the direction of the management team.
During an event you will be expected to be a hands-on member of the team working under the direction of the duty manager to assist in the running of the bar including serving drinks and using the till. On occasion you may be asked to assist the management team with some office responsibilities including taking phone call enquiries and completing some event paperwork.
About you
You will be someone who ideally has experience working within a hospitality environment and have the passion and drive to progress your career within the Hospitality or Events industry.
You will have excellent customer service skills and a desire to provide customers with a professional and friendly service.
As a hospitality team member, you will play an important role in providing operational support across both venues, developing your skills within the industry and completing a level 2 hospitality team member apprenticeship.
Key duties
As Apprentice Hospitality Team Member, you will work collaboratively with the teams in Flixton House and Trafford Town Hall to deliver efficient day to day service and excellent customer service.
You will take direction from the manager at each location to complete a variety of different tasks.
You will also participate in the apprenticeship training programme, meeting learning objectives in a timely and professional manner.

Additional Information
Flexibility will be required to work outside core hours as both venues are available for hire in the evenings and/or weekends as well as hosting meetings during the working week.
