What you’ll be doing

- Coordinate the development of Project Briefs based on the needs defined by Asset Management.
- Understand project risks and co-ordinate mitigation activities
- Prepare and support technical reviews through the Definition, De-Risking and Detail Design phases of projects
- Carry out Technical Assurance checks and audits of Contractor activities and outputs through the Detail Design and Construction phases of projects
- Coach and mentor others to facilitate personal development and continuous improvement

We have roles in London, Thames Valley, and the Home Counties. These are on a Hybrid Basis, but you must work on-site and attend the office as the business requires.

36 hours a week, Monday to Friday – we are open to applications for candidates looking for full-time and part-time positions

What you should bring to the role

- An Engineering Degree in one of the following disciplines: ICA/Electrical/Civil/ Mechanical or the equivalent in HNC qualification
- Background in developing technical project solutions and briefs in their specific discipline
- Understanding of project delivery in process industries
- Knowledge of H&S in the Construction industry, Particularly CDM
- Knowledge of industrial processes in their engineering discipline
- Confident in engaging with all levels of external or internal stakeholders

Our client is looking to hire a Commissioning Manager for approximately 12 months.

The Commissioning Manager will oversee the entire commissioning process, overseeing all aspects from document approval to the execution of commissioning activities. They will develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and strategies in collaboration with project teams, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

Key accountabilities:

Manage Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) procedures, outlining the necessary steps, criteria, and performance metrics for successful system commissioning.
Lead and supervise a commissioning team, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise throughout the commissioning process.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to coordinate commissioning activities, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives.
Conduct regular progress reviews of commissioning activities, monitoring adherence to schedules, identifying potential bottlenecks, and proposing corrective actions.
Oversee the execution of commissioning procedures, including equipment installation, system configuration, calibration, functional testing, and performance verification.
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimise potential disruptions and hazards during commissioning activities.
Monitor and report on the progress and outcomes of commissioning activities, including performance metrics, test results, and compliance with quality standards.
Provide support during commissioning activities, troubleshooting issues, resolving conflicts, and ensuring the successful completion of commissioning tasks.
Collaborate with the documentation team to ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of commissioning procedures, test results, as-built configurations, and other relevant records.



Key requirements:

Experience in a commissioning environment.
Holds associate membership of an appropriate professional institution
Proven track record of managing commissioning arrangements at an appropriate level
Ability to lead a multi-discipline team to safely execute the commissioning
Excellent awareness of Health and Safety Legislation
Ability to Chair a Test and Commissioning Panel
Capable of assignment to one major or multiple of minor projects
Engineering background essential

Your New Role

You will be responsible for packages within process plant and equipment on a large complex delivery project which are typically in the manufacturing/site installation phases as well as being responsible for ensuring the design is developed in a manner that maintains the design intent.

What You'll Need To Succeed

You will have previous installation experience of process plant and equipment ideally within a nuclear environment, a mechanical engineering background with a good understanding of the design intent requirements and managing their delivery through to verification. Ideally, you will also be security cleared.

What You'll Get In Return

This role is being offered with the daily rate between £700 - £730 per day on an interim contract outside IR35.
