Art Teacher - The Role

I am working with a secondary school based in Surrey that are looking to appoint an Art Teacher on a long term basis starting in ASAP. The school have described their ideal candidate as someone that has strong subject knowledge and confident in all aspects of the subject. They are looking for someone that has the ability to plan and deliver high quality lessons. This position will be starting in ASAP and will be a full time position.

The school is a secondary school, based in Surrey which caters to approximately 1,400 students ranging between 11 to 18. The school is situated close to Walton-On-Thames train station which operates on the Southwestern Railway. A day in the life of a Murphy Design Engineer


- To design protection and control system according to project specific requirements for electrical substation up to a voltage of 400kV
- Prepare single line diagram and key line diagram of substation project.
- To prepare project specific electrical design for plants like circuit breaker, disconnector, earth switch etc. Design should be in line with generic drawing from OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer).
- To review protection and control drawing from OEM for overall system integration and provide interface details.
- To prepare electrical interlocking drawing as requirements in line client’s technical specification.
- To produce wiring/ termination diagram, low voltage cable schedule, cable block diagram, core sheets etc. as required for project delivery.
- Technical support during construction & commissioning including formal response to site technical queries, i.e., preparation of mods for design modification to rectify design error or any other reason that compels to amend the design to fulfil the functional requirements.
- To prepare technical specification of different P & C equipment for supplier’s quotation.
- Work closely with other sections of substation engineering design team to enable effective collaboration on multi-disciplinary projects and facilitate an optimal engineering function.
- Establish and promote best practice in health, safety and environmental matters in conjunction with the SHQE department.
- Where required supervision of assistant engineers, junior engineers or CAD operators.

- Represent the design department when necessary at internal and external meetings, Manage the interface with external or in house design teams on behalf of the Design Manager.
- Liaise with other departments and project teams within the company with respect to design requirements.
- Undertake site visits when appropriate.
- Ensure that chargeable work is identified and evaluated including the preparation of adequate records of time spent.
- Collate feedback on designs and saved in accordance with procedure.
- Coach individual staff members.
- Prepare conceptual designs from with a view to the preparation of safe, practical and economic designs in accordance with current legislation.
- Prepare detailed designs in accordance with current standards and codes including calculations, design risk assessments and sufficiently detailed sketches for the preparation of working drawings.
- Check the design work of other staff members and external designers.
- Implementation of Temporary Works requirements and associated registers.

Who we are looking for


- Degree qualified in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
- Preferred experience in Water (e.g. United Utilities) and Energy industries
- Experience of interfacing with clients & developing solutions
- Knowledge and understanding of construction plant & equipment to install pipelines/cables
- Good technical report writing skills suitable for submission to stakeholders and government bodies
- Preferred to have Trenchless Crossing Design Experience
- Design experience associated with linear infrastructure projects (cables and pipelines)
- FEED experience associated with the planning stages of linear infrastructure projects

• Proven track record of successfully reaching and exceeding sales revenue goals through consultative sell 
• Strong understanding of Walmart consumer behavior and how Walmart helps suppliers, marketers, and consumers 
• Strong analytical and Excel skills are essential, as well as curiosity, persistence, and the ability to solve problems in a structured manner

What You Will Do:

• Lead design strategy and visual concepts for a variety of needs, assessing whether internal or external creative resources are best suited for each project. This includes partnering with marketing managers to ensure timelines and deadlines are met.

• Collaborate closely with the Brand strategy partners to create frameworks for design, rooted in brand architecture, to allow for a consistent brand experience for our clients.

The annual salary range for this position is $100,200.00-$150,200.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

Position Summary

The Engineer II position is the intermediate level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees in the Engineer II position solve complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with general supervision. An Engineer II is expected to develop advanced skills, and the ability to work with greater independence. An Engineer II effectively applies fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is fairly complex and varied. This position will be performing Transmission Line Designs. • Conducts engineering and related studies; projects and assignments are clearly defined with focus on development but must be able to complete routine engineering projects with minimal oversight; competent to design, operate and maintain systems with minimum impact on existing systems.
• Possesses and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures; demonstrates proficiency in technical competencies and has ability to interpret technical information and instructions.

• Must have obtained Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
